GENE DISRUPTION [3 records]

Record 1 2010-04-20

English

Subject field(s)
  • Genetics
CONT

Mouse P0 gene disruption leads to hypomyelination, abnormal expression of recognition molecules, and degeneration of myelin and axons.

French

Domaine(s)
  • Génétique
DEF

Record 2 2000-05-17

English

Subject field(s)
  • Immunology
  • Cytology
CONT

The development of influenza virus-specific CD8+ cytotoxic T lymphocyte precursors(CTLp) is diminished in H-2b mice that are homozygous(-/-) for disruption of the H-2IA b gene. Virus clearance was not obviously delayed when compared with the congenic H-2IAb(+/+) controls, and evidence of CTL activity was apparent for inflammatory cells recovered from the respiratory tract in both cases. However, the virus-specific CTLp that are normally present in the regional lymph nodes and in the infected lung were evidently being consumed at the peak of the host response to give the terminally differentiated CTL effectors.

Record 3 1997-03-20

English

Subject field(s)
  • Genetics
CONT

The scale of the gene disruption experiments we are carrying out--inactivating more than 25% of all vital genes--is unprecedented in multicellular organisms, and is likely to provide unique insights into the organization of eukaryotic genomes.

French

Domaine(s)
  • Génétique
DEF
