proto-oncogene : a normal cellular gene that with alteration, such as by mutation, DNA rearrangement, or nearby insertion of viral DNA, becomes an active oncogene; most proto-oncogenes are believed to normally function in cell growth and differentiation. 1, record 1, English, - cellular%20oncogene

1, record 1, French, - oncog%C3%A8ne%20cellulaire

The molecular evolution of genes is affected by a variety of genomic mechanisms of rearrangement(for example, gene conversion, duplications, transposition etc.). We are using a variety of molecular genetic techniques to study the evolutionary consequences of such mechanisms as they take place in a number of functionally important genes, including genes controlling development in Drosophila, the ribosomal RNA multigene family, and the mobile genes of P elements that cause hybrid dysgenesis in Drosophila. 3, record 2, English, - multigene%20family

1, record 2, French, - famille%20multig%C3%A9nique
