BRCA stands for "breast cancer gene" and refers to two different genes – BRCA1 and BRCA2. These genes actually are known as "tumor suppressor genes" because of the role they play in helping to repair DNA breaks that can lead to cancer. 1, record 1, English, - breast%20cancer%20gene

1, record 1, French, - g%C3%A8ne%20du%20cancer%20du%20sein

The results indicate that arsenite alone is mutagenic in human cells using the supF reporter gene. The pZ189 shuttle vector may provide a model to study the molecular nature of co-mutagenesis of arsenic and other environmental agents. Further characterization of arsenic' s effects on DNA repair and mutational spectra may be useful in the development of molecular markers in studies of arsenic carcinogenesis in human populations. 2, record 2, English, - shuttle%20vector

First, we transfected this construct into cultured Medaka cells and established several lines of transfectant. Every transfectant showed enhanced ability of pyrimidine dimer repair in the presence of fluorescent light. In the transfectant that showed the most enhanced ability of photorepair, the augmented transcription of photolyase gene was observed compared with that of progenitor OL32 cells. In this transfectant, we also observed an enhanced rate of UV survival with 20 min of fluorescent light treatment after irradiation with a 400 J/m2 UV sunlamp. 2, record 3, English, - transfectant%20complex

1, record 3, French, - complexe%20transfectant
