dementia: The designation "dementia" is sometimes considered pejorative. However, there is no generally accepted synonym to replace it. One strategy to avoid using the designation "dementia" is to replace it with "neurocognitive impairment." However, while the word "impairment" is acceptable in a medical context, it can sometimes be considered offensive. démence : La désignation «démence» est parfois considérée comme péjorative.

1, record 25, French, - Jeux%20de%20G%C3%A9nie

Each summer, Sweden welcomes competitors from over 21 countries to the five day "O-Ringen" competition--the largest Orienteering Meet in the World. As well, it reports on the daily events of the competition and gives a good picture of its general organization. The general practice in Canada is to use only one cleaning passage for the blend. The first cleaning machine is a milling separator, similar to the receiving separator used in the elevator, but more precise in its ability to separate impurities that are larger and smaller than wheat. The top sieve has large perforations about six millimetres in diameter and the bottom sieve has holes two millimetres in diameter. As the grain passes through the machine, large impurities such as corn, soybeans and unthreshed wheat are removed by the top screen, while the finer bottom sieve allows small impurities such as mustard seed, buckwheat and sand to pass through for separate collection. The partially cleaned wheat tails over the finer sieve. As it falls off the end of the sieve, it is aspirated by air currents that remove chaff and dust to a separate outlet. 1, record 42, English, - milling%20separator

1, record 42, French, - s%C3%A9parateur%20de%20mouture

Sales-to-assets ratio provides an indication of the general efficiency of an organization, which gives an idea of how the assets are used. This ratio measures the ability of the firm to sell goods with one unit of assets. A high sales-to-assets ratio is generally preferable because it indicates a good ability of the firm to generate sales with a minimum of assets. However, since the indicator is a ratio, a high sales-to-assets ratio could be derived from a small amount of assets. In this case, the firm could be providing poor service to its customers or struggling from inefficient production. Similarly, a low ratio may indicate either lower than normal sales or higher than normal assets. Therefore, we should be cautious when interpreting the sales-to-assets ratio. 1, record 43, English, - sales%2Dto%2Dtotal%20assets%20ratio

Combining ability for grain yield, yield components, and several agronomic and qualitative traits, was studied in a seven-parent diallel cross. The 21 F SUB 1 hybrids and the seven parental cultivars were grown in replicated plot trials sown at normal seed density in three locations in the years 1992 and 1993. The effects of general combining ability(gca) were highly significant for all the traits measured with the exception of seeds per spikelet, while the specific combining ability(sca) effects were statistically significant for grain yield, plant height, heading time, for all the yield components, and for the Chopin alveographic parameters P and P/L ratio/(From an abstract found in Dialog). 2, record 51, English, - replicated%20plot

1, record 62, French, - fonction%20drain

SMITHTOWN(Shute an Glaser, 1986; Shute and Bonar, 1986) is a system for teaching economics, which combines a microworld for exploratory learning with a(bite-sized tutoring module.) The student is presented with a simulated town; she can vary parameters such as the supply or the price of certain goods to study the modifications induced in other parameters. Figure 7. 11 shows a snapshot of SMITHTOWN's "notebook" facility, which allows the student to record her experiments. The system implements two simultaneous pedagogical intentions : teaching principles of economics and teaching general investigative behaviors. Bites at the economics level monitor which laws the student is discovering, supplying the name of the new concept when she makes a relevant hypothesis. If the student flounders excessively, the system can become more directive and suggest experiments according to a curriculum that organizes the(domain bites). Bites for investigative behaviors monitor various skills of scientific inquiry such as the ability to collect and record data in a systematic way. At this level, the system acts as a coach, but it does not address inquiry skills directly, since these bites constitute a sort of(metacurriculum). 1, record 63, English, - bite%2Dsized%20tutoring%20module

1, record 64, French, - capacit%C3%A9%20de%20charge
