In 1990, a small group of engineering students from the Université Laval decided, taking example on their colleagues from law school and administration, to organize games between the universities to allow students from around Quebec to meet each other and compete in a friendly ambiance. Participants get the chance to demonstrate their general culture and physical ability in sportive and academic competition. This competition take place within the activity of the Quebec Confederation for Engineering Student Outreach(QCESO), regrouping all the student societies of the institutions proposing engineering programs in Quebec.

En 1990, un groupe d'étudiants de l'Université Laval décide, à l'instar de leurs confrères d'administration et de droit, d'organiser un événement qui rassemblerait des étudiants en génie de toute la province afin de donner la possibilité à ces derniers de s'affronter dans un cadre amical à travers des compétitions tant sportives, académiques [que] culturelles. Cette activité est chapeautée par la Confédération pour le Rayonnement des étudiants en Ingénierie du Québec (CRÉIQ), anciennement connue sous l'appellation Coalition des Facultés d'Ingénierie du Québec (COFIQ). Cette confédération regroupe toutes les associations étudiantes des diverses facultés d'ingénierie au Québec. Cette année, nous en sommes à la 17e édition, qui rassemblera dans la ville de Sherbrooke plus de 400 participants provenant des quatre coins de la province. Au fil du temps, les Jeux de Génie sont devenus un incontournable pour les étudiants en génie au Québec et gagnent chaque année en popularité et en notoriété.

This test is used to identify level of coding performance in relation to age peers, diagnoses learning disabilities in reading, spelling, and arithmetic when used in conjunction with a comprehensive test of general ability, measures the development of basic academic codes over time when intervention techniques are attempted and finally studies the relationships between the coding aspects of reading and arithmetic with the behavioural disabilities of verbal and numerical comprehension and problem solving.
