The Internal Control Division is responsible for overseeing the design and maintenance of an effective and integrated system of internal control over financial reporting. In doing so, the Division supports the Deputy Minister in his role of Accounting Officer by providing reasonable assurance that the effectiveness of the system of internal control is monitored across the Department and that weaknesses are identified and addressed. The Division also acts as liaison between the Chief Financial Officer Branch and the Audit and Accountability Bureau and the Office of the Auditor General for audits related to the Branch.
