Record number: 2, Textual support number: 2 OBS

When the Business Partnering Model was first presented, the role of a broker within the Director, Human Resources’ team had been developed whose responsibility was routing all requests to the appropriate service centre, tracking all requests to ensure service standards were met, and providing information to managers and the team on the status of individual service transactions. After long discussions, the broker role was replaced by a Business Line Team(BLT). This team is part of the Organization and Resourcing Services. On a matrix basis, a team will be set up for each client Branch/SOA. Headed by a Senior Consultant, reporting to the Resourcing Manager, the team represents a mix of skills and resources to meet client needs as defined by a service agreement negotiatied by the Director, Human Resources. The Senior Consultant, BLT and his/her team will work in partnership with the Director, HR team and will provide constant feed back on results and issues impacting service delivery to the client. Members of the BLT team are at all levels of the organization from support to officer. The make up of the Business Line Team is reviewed annually based on client business plans and service agreements. The Business Line Team is the client's single point of access for staffing, organization design and classification request. It is also responsible for providing these services in the most strategic and cost-efficient way for the client. The Director, HR team will keep the BLT abreast of any client issue, general direction and priority that might impact on service delivery. 2, record 34, English, - Business%20Line%20Team

2, record 34, French, - %C3%89quipe%20de%20secteur%20d%27activit%C3%A9

The Euro-Mediterranean Centre on Insular Coastal Dynamics-(ICoD) forms part of a network of specialised Centres pertaining to the Open Partial Agreement of the Council of Europe on Major Natural and Technological Hazards. While the majority of the specialised Centres belonging to the OPA specialise in dealing with geomorphological disasters, those based in Malta and Monaco address marine-related issues. ICoD was established in 1988 within the framework of the "Euro-Mediterranean Centre on Marine Contamination Hazards" where it initially addressed marine degradation in general; it has subsequently re-oriented its objectives and activities towards a greater focus on the interactive processes which occur at the coastal zone and in particular, of insular areas. 1, record 37, English, - Euro%2DMediterranean%20Centre%20on%20Insular%20Coastal%20Dynamics

Havana Charter was the charter of the defunct International Trade Organization(ITO). It was signed by 53 countries on March 24, 1948. It allowed for international cooperation and rules against anti-competitive business practices. The charter ultimately failed because the Congress of the United States rejected it. Elements of it would later become part of the General Agreement on Tariffs and Trade(GATT). The charter, proposed by John Maynard Keynes, was to establish the ITO and a financial institution called the International Clearing Union(ICU), and an international currency; the bancor. The Havana Charter institutions were to stabilize trade by encouraging nations to "net zero", with trade surplus and trade deficit both discouraged. This negative feedback was to be accomplished by allowing nations overdraft equal to half the average value of the country's trade over the preceding five years, with interest charged on both surplus and deficit. 2, record 39, English, - Havana%20Charter

Liberation Day is celebrated each year on May 5 in the Netherlands to mark the end of the German occupation during the Second World War. The nation was liberated largely by Canadian troops. On May 5, 1945, the Canadian General Charles Foulkes and the German Commander-in-Chief Johannes Blaskowitz reached an oral agreement on the capitulation of Germany in Hotel De Wereld in Wageningen. One day later, the capitulation document was signed in the auditorium of the Agricultural University located next to the hotel. After the liberation in 1945 the decision was made that Liberation Day was going to be celebrated every 5 years. Only in 1990, the day was declared a national holiday, on which the liberation would be commemorated and celebrated annually. 2, record 45, English, - Dutch%20Liberation%20Day

Code on Technical Barriers to Trade :... the Tokyo round had mixed results. It failed to come to grips with the fundamental problems affecting farm trade and also stopped short of providing a new agreement on "safeguards"(emergency import measures). Nevertheless, a series of agreements on non-tariff barriers did emerge from the negotiations, in some cases interpreting existing GATT [General Agreement on Tariffs and Trade] rules, in others breaking entirely new ground. In most cases, only a relatively small number of(mainly industrialized) GATT members subscribed to theses agreements and arrangements. Because they were not accepted by the full GATT membership, they were often informally called "code". 4, record 52, English, - Agreement%20on%20Technical%20Barriers%20to%20Trade

Before the Government of Canada can enter into any international agreement, certain necessary policy approval and legal authorization must be sought and obtained.... The first step, to secure policy approval, normally takes the form of a Memorandum to Cabinet, signed by the minister or ministers having substantive responsibility for the subject matter of the proposed agreement, recommending its conclusion. The Secretary of State for External Affairs should either join in signing the Memorandum to the Cabinet, or concur in the recommendations. Where Cabinet has previously decided on the general policy guidelines to govern Canadian participation in international arrangements to be embodied in an international agreement and has approved a draft version of the agreement, a second Memorandum to Cabinet is not usually required if the only changes to the draft agreement in the interim are minor, when it is usually sufficient to obtain the agreement of the ministers most directly concerned. 4, record 57, English, - draft%20agreement

Established in 1959 by the Massey Foundation, The Massey Medal is awarded annually by the Society. Its purpose is to recognize outstanding personal achievement in the exploration, development or description of the geography of Canada. Eligibility is restricted to Canadian citizens, although in special circumstances, the Medal may be awarded to a non-Canadian, subject to agreement by the Massey Foundation. It is always awarded to an individual, never a group. The presentation of the Massey Medal is usually made at Rideau Hall by the Society's Patron, the Governor General, when His Excellency's schedule permits. In years when this is not possible, a special award ceremony is held elsewhere in Ottawa, with the President of the Society presiding. 1, record 58, English, - Massey%20Medal

[In water transport] such contracts, commonly called contracts of affreightment, encompasss a heterogeneous mass of maritime agreements, comprising such differing types of contracts for the lease of a vessel (bareboat or demise charters), voyage and time charter parties, and bills of lading, including bills of lading in liner trades. 2, record 86, English, - contract%20of%20affreightment
Record number: 86, Textual support number: 1 OBS
The typical feature of such contracts is that the undertaking by the shipowner(ship operator), contrary to what is usually the case under bills of lading and charter parties in general, is not linked to any particular vessel or vessels, and that as a consequence his undertaking is of a generic nature. These contracts, it is said, are not real "chartering contracts" as there is no charter-party, but only an "agreement". 2, record 86, English, - contract%20of%20affreightment

3, record 96, Spanish, - amparo
