Qualitative and quantitative studies show that people who consult complementary practitioners usually have longstanding conditions for which conventional medicine has not provided a satisfactory solution, either because it is insufficiently effective or because it causes adverse effects. They have generally already consulted a conventional healthcare practitioner for the problem, and many continue to use the two systems concurrently. Some "pick and mix" between complementary and conventional care, claiming that there are certain problems for which their general practitioner has the best approach and others for which a complementary practitioner is more appropriate. Most find their complementary practitioners through personal recommendation. 2, record 4, English, - complementary%20practitioner

In general, psychiatric treatments have improved significantly over the past several decades, beginning with the advent of modern psychiatric medications. In the past, psychiatric patients were often hospitalized for six months or more, with a significant number of cases involving hospitalization for many years. Today, most psychiatric patients are managed as outpatients. If hospitalization is required, the average hospital stay is around two to three weeks, with only a small number of cases involving long-term in-patient care. 3, record 5, English, - psychiatric%20patient

The liability of occupiers hinges on the inveterate distinction... between activities creating risks of harm and the failure to take affirmative action to prevent harm.... the common law... was generally cool to the plea that anyone should be obliged to exert himself on behalf of another, at least in the absence of some corresponding benefit. This factor goes far to explain the erstwhile reluctance to expose occupiers to the discipline of a general duty of care....(However) the mere fact that the defendant happens to be an occupier does not mean his duties are necessarily and exclusively defined by his "occupancy" duties : they may well be augmented by a general duty of care as the result of some additional factor colouring his relationship to the plaintiff... 1, record 29, English, - general%20duty%20of%20care

Principles have a dimension that rules do not - the dimension of weight or importance. When principles intersect (the policy of protecting automobile consumers intersecting with principles of freedom of contract, for example). one who must resolve the conflict has to take into account the relative weight of each. (It is an integral part of the concept of a principle that it has this dimension, that it makes sense to ask how important or how weighty it is. Rules do not have this dimension. We cannot say that one rule is more important than another within the system of rules, so that when two rules conflict one supersedes the other by virtue of its greater weight. If two rules conflict, one of them cannot be a valid rule. (Dworkin, 1977, pp. 26-7). 1, record 44, English, - principle

The field of occupier's liability has been complicated further by an overridding distinction between an "activity duty" and an "occupancy duty", which derives from the misfeasance-nonfeasance dichotomy. If an entrant is injured by "current operations" being carried out by the occupier on the land, as opposed to a defect or danger in the condition of the land, the courts will impose the general duty to use reasonable care. This general duty is owed to all persons lawfully on the premises, but it is unclear whether it is also applicable to trespassers whose presence is known or probable. 1, record 50, English, - activity%20duty

1, record 50, French, - devoir%20reli%C3%A9%20%C3%A0%20l%27activit%C3%A9

Due to the profusion of English terms possible, care must be exercised when choosing the correct English term for a given context. When reference is made to a butterfly or moth in its larval stage, then terms that include the words "worm" or "caterpillar" would be more appropriate than those that include the word "moth", which normally would imply that the insect is in its adult stage. However what complicates matters is that the female species of this family of moths does not always develop wings in adulthood. Indeed several female species retain their larval form even in adult life, hence the confusion in usage and the abundance of terms in general circulation. It is recommended however that the shortest term "bagworm" should only be used as a stylistic synonym, in cases where one would prefer not to repeat a longer term already mentioned earlier in a given text. 4, record 52, English, - bagworm%20moth

5, record 52, French, - psych%C3%A9

Gross and others have recently advocated liposhaving as a superior alternative to liposuction. With liposhaving, commercially available soft tissue shavers(often employed in endoscopic surgery) are used instead of the liposuction cannula to sharply amputate fat deposits sucked into the shaver with minimal suction. Great care must be taken to activate the blade only when the shaver is in continuous motion and in the appropriate location, in order to avoid over resecting fat and macerating skin edges. In the right hands, liposhaving is quicker and less labor-intensive then traditional liposuction. However, the safety of this technique with respect to damage to surrounding soft tissue and neurovascular structures must be proved unequivocally before it can be recommended for general use. 1, record 61, English, - liposhaving

The Association was founded, as the Provincial Medical and Surgical Association, in Worcester in 1832 by Dr(later Sir) Charles Hastings. There was no regulation of the profession at this time and anyone whether qualified or not, could practise as a doctor. The Association lobbied for a regulatory body and this led to the setting up of the General Medical Council in 1858. The Association also campaigned on behalf of doctors providing medical care under the Poor Laws and on other issues. 1, record 75, English, - British%20Medical%20Association

Azides are a group of both organic and inorganic compounds containing the N3 functional group. In general, azides are reactive and toxic. In fact, inorganic azides are commonly used as preservatives in biological solutions because of the ability of the N3 group to bind tightly to cytochromes and block electron transport and ATP synthesis. All of the heavy metal azides and most, if not all, of the light metal azides are explosive under the right conditions. In general, by "dual relationship", it is presumed to mean that a professional, whether a psychologist or a coach, cannot easily and efficiently maintain two different kinds of relationships with the same patient(or athlete). For instance, a psychologist, who is a friend of the patient, cannot effectively maintain a dual relationship with his patient a) as a clinician and b) as caring person or a friend with emotions-at the same time. Inversely, the patient who is a friend of the clinician will likely make undue demands on his friend, e. g. asking for non-essential medication, but at the same time expecting the clinician to provide the best psychiatric care. 2, record 90, English, - dual%20relationship
