Record number: 1, Textual support number: 1 DEF
A form of check not employed in the United States but extensively used in England where it is recognized by law. Crossing is of two kinds, general and special. General crossing consists of drawing two parallel or transverse lines across the face of a check without the addition of any words.... If the name of the bank or banker is added in a crossing, however, the check... is known as a special crossing. When a check is crossed, generally the bank on which it is drawn may not pay it to any other party than to a bank, and when it is crossed specially, to no other than the banker specified in the crossing. 2, record 1, English, - crossed%20cheque

Record 2, Textual support, English
Record number: 2, Textual support number: 1 DEF
In general, any player whose assigned position is the left or right instead of the center. But more specifically, refers to players whose job is to come into the attack by bringing the ball up the side line(i. e., the wings) and to send good crossing passes into the center. 7, record 2, English, - wing%20player
Record number: 2, Textual support number: 1 CONT
Pure "wingers" aren’t used today as much as they used to be. "Wingers" used to be the wide forwards or midfielders (who were sometimes called "withdrawn wingers"). Wing midfielders are sometimes called "winghalfs" or "wingmids" & wing fullbacks are "wingbacks." Today, it is more common to use wingmids or wingbacks to come up to cross the ball than to have wing forwards. "Wingers" who bring the ball up the side are often very fast and excellent dribblers. 7, record 2, English, - wing%20player

winger; wing: There should be a distinction between "wing," the position, and "winger," the player, but most sources consider these terms synonyms to mean the player. 9, record 2, English, - wing%20player

ailier; aile : Même si les sources donnent ces deux termes synonymes, il y aurait lieu de distinguer entre «ailier», le joueur («winger»), et «aile», la position qu'il occupe («wing»).
