AC medium is a good primary isolation medium possessing unique growth promoting properties for both aerobic and anaerobic microorganisms. It is recommended as a general culture medium for anaerobes, microaerophiles and aerobes. The medium contains an agar flux that retards air diffusion and when sealed in snap-cap tubes immediately after autoclaving, it maintains an oxygen gradient ranging from anaerobic at the bottom to aerobic at the top. Techniques :... Within 24 hours after inoculation, anaerobic organisms will be growing near the bottom, microaerophiles near the center, and aerobic organisms near the top Facultative organisms will grow throughout the tube. The composition is the following : beef extract(3 g), yeast extract(3 g), malt extract(3 g), proteose peptone No. 3(Difco)(20 g). dextrose(5 g), agar(1 g), ascorbic acid(0. 2 g), distilled water(1 liter)... 4, record 4, English, - all%2Dculture%20medium

At the proposal of Haiti and some African countries, the General Conference of UNESCO approved at its 27th Session in 1993 the implementation of the "Slave Route" Project(Resolution 27 C/3. 13). The idea of a "Route" expresses the dynamics of the movement of peoples, civilizations and cultures, while that of "slave" addresses not only the universal phenomenon of slavery, but also in a more precise and explicit way the transatlantic slave trade in the Atlantic, and slave trade in the Indian Ocean and the Mediterranean. The project has three major objectives : to break the silence surrounding the slave trade and slavery through the historical study of the causes and dynamics of the transatlantic slave trade; the clarification of the consequences and interactions resulting from the slave trade; to contribute to the establishment of a culture of tolerance and peaceful coexistence between races and peoples. 1, record 10, English, - Slave%20Route

1, record 10, Spanish, - La%20Ruta%20del%20Esclavo

Since the Villers-Cotterêts Edict in 1539, the French language has officially been a component of national identity. Today, the Constitution(article 2) specifies that the language of the Republic is French, while remaining open to the use of other languages. La Délégation générale à la langue française et aux langues de France(DGLFLF) is a government department whose role is to guide national language policy at inter-ministerial level. Attached to the Ministry of Culture and Communication, the department's role is to examine, pilot and co-ordinate issues, and to track the application of legislative and statutory mechanisms(Law of 4th August 1994 on the use of the French language). It is supported by a network of partner organisations including the Senior Council for the French Language and the General Commission for Terminology and Neologisms. 1, record 13, English, - D%C3%A9l%C3%A9gation%20g%C3%A9n%C3%A9rale%20%C3%A0%20la%20langue%20fran%C3%A7aise%20et%20aux%20langues%20de%20France

The decision to establish an International Institute of Child Study(IICS) was taken by the UNESCO General Conference in 1952. The operative decision reads :’In 1953... it is planned to select and train the essential personnel for the establishment in 1954 in Asia of a research and training centre in educational psychology for experienced teachers and an associated field project of educational guidance. The object of this unit and its associated field project is to combine the advanced training of teachers with fundamental and applied research, and to do both in the light of a continuing study of a given culture. It is hoped that the unit will produce a small but steady flow of highly trained educators each year, who will be able practically to apply the findings of psychological research to the educational needs of their own countries. ’ 1, record 22, English, - International%20Institute%20of%20Child%20Study

The right of minorities to their own culture, religion and language is mentioned in the International Covenant on Civil and Political Rights adopted by the General Assembly of the United Nations in 1966. However, generally speaking, this notion has now been replaced by the concept of "elimination of racial discrimination" and more generally the "protection of human rights for all people without distinction as to race, sex, language or religion.
