The Secrétariat aux affaires autochtones(SAA) is the agency entrusted with the prime responsibility for maintaining ties between the Aboriginal peoples and the Government of Québec. For 25 years, it has worked with Amerindian and Inuit organizations to facilitate their access to the various government programs and to adapt government activities to their needs in some cases. The SAA is part of Québec' s ministère du Conseil exécutif. It is up to the Secretariat to establish harmonious relations and partnerships between the Aboriginal peoples and the government as well as between the Aboriginal peoples and the general public. This is achieved, in particular, through the negotiation of agreements, the dissemination of appropriate information and the providing of support for the social, economic and cultural development of the Amerindians and the Inuit.

La Commission du Développement Durable (CDD) a été créée en décembre 1992 pour assurer un suivi efficace de la Conférence de Nations Unies sur l'environnement et le développement (UNCED), contrôler et faire le suivi de la mise en œuvre des accords du Sommet de la Terre tant au niveau local, national, régional qu'international. La CDD est une commission technique du Conseil Économique et Social (ECOSOC) qui comprend 54 membres. Il a été reconnu qu'un examen quinquennal des avancées concernant le Sommet de la Terre aurait lieu en 1997 lors de l'Assemblée Générale des Nations Unies réunie session extraordinaire. En juin 1997, l'Assemblée Général des Nations Unies a adopté un programme de mise en œuvre de l'Agenda 21 dont le suivi sera effectué par la CDD ainsi que le plan de travail de la Commission pour 1998 - 2002. L'objectif de la CDD est également de renforcer les relations entre les gouvernements et les ONG afin de promouvoir le développement durable tout autour du globe.

This concept also contributes to furthering the economic growth of the environmental industry in the context of sustainable development. The Centre's mission will be to contribute to the development of effective and economical expertise in the area of restoring contaminated urban sites, which are a serious obstacle to economic development for cities in general and for Metropolitan Montreal in particular. It will also encourage the transfer of proven technologies to the private sector and the development of collaborative research projects and strategic alliances.

The Justice Studies Center of the Americas(JSCA) is an autonomous, intergovernmental organisation whose mission is to support the countries of the region in their judicial reform processes. The Center is headquartered in Santiago, Chile, and it includes all of the active member states of the OAS.
