A permeable in-ground wall that absorbs, reacts with, or degrades contaminants in the groundwater migrating through it. 4, record 1, English, - treatment%20wall
Record number: 1, Textual support number: 1 CONT
Treatment walls are structures installed underground to treat contaminated ground water found at hazardous waste sites. Treatment walls ... are put in place by constructing a giant trench across the flow path of contaminated ground water and filling it with one of a variety of materials (reactive fillings) carefully selected for the ability to clean up specific types of contaminants. As the contaminated ground water passes through the treatment wall, the contaminants are either trapped by the treatment wall or transformed into harmless substances that flow out of the wall. 2, record 1, English, - treatment%20wall

2, record 1, French, - paroi%20drainante

Synthetic diamond. A man-made diamond, produced either by subjecting carbon-bearing material such as graphite to high temperature and pressure or by the chemical vapor deposition(CVD) method. The Swedish company Allmana Svenska Elektriska Aktiebolaget(ASEA) is believed to have achieved the first repeatable synthesis of diamond in 1953, but their results were not published at the time; General Electric Company(GE) announced a successful synthesis of diamonds in 1954, followed by De Beers in 1959. Colors range from black to dark green, light green, red, yellow, blue, and colorless(Type IIa diamonds). Millions of carats of industrial-quality synthetic diamond are now manufactured annually using high pressure techniques; gem quality synthetic diamonds have been produced experimentally by De Beers Diamond Research Laboratories, General Electric Company... 3, record 3, English, - synthetic%20diamond

2, record 5, French, - boulwarisme
