Under the general law of contract, said Lord Wilberforce, acceptance of a repudiatory breach does not bring about rescission ab initio’. It follows, therefore, that if an innocent party, the victim of a breach of contract that is sufficiently important, chooses to treat the contract as discharged, for example, where goods sold to a buyer are defective and the buyer rejects them, his conduct is not to be looked upon as involving rescission of the contract. 2, record 15, English, - rescission%20ab%20initio

This state of the law sometimes causes dissatisfaction, particularly when it is alleged that "excessive" profits have been made out of government contracts; or, when, in times of scarcity, it is said that "excessive" prices are charged for goods or services or accommodation. But the courts are not well equipped to deal with the social and economic questions involved in determining whether a bargain is fair; and it seems that their refusal in general to judge the adequacy of consideration is correct. 2, record 16, English, - adequacy%20of%20consideration

Ethical consumption, also known as socially responsible consumption, is a trend where consumers ask questions about the company that produced the goods -- choosing to patronize the companies which have "positive" profiles and avoiding those with "negative" profiles. 3, record 46, English, - ethical%20consumption
Record number: 46, Textual support number: 1 OBS
The very name of "ethical consumption" is still an open issue, and varies from ethical consumption to consumption in solidarity, responsible consumption, and fair consumption.... The idea of "ethical consumption" should initially be based on a definition of ethics. For those who understand the concept of Ethics as the definition of criteria to identify Good and Evil, it is important for the concept of Ethical Consumption to include another idea of consumption that is not based on individualism. The word that best defines this relationship with the rest of the world is "solidarity. "It qualifies it and defines the importance of others in the ethical values on which consumption is based. In this case we are talking about "ethical consumption in solidarity. "There is also a simplified version called "consumption in solidarity", which appears in the literature referring to consumption that not only considers our personal welfare but also considers general welfare. This is a consumption in which production is completed, generating an impact on the ecosystem and society in general. Under this idea, the choice of type of consumption can benefit or hinder the creation or maintenance of the productive jobs in a specific society, the preservation of ecosystems and the promotion of the general welfare of communities, countries and the entire planet. "Responsible consumption"(an expression used in Europe, particularly in France), appears where there is an awareness of the power of consumers, which become economic units with an important role to play, just as important as businesses and market regulatory boards. It implies an idea of economy that wishes to provide answers to citizens who belong to an economic and political world that considers man as a mere consumer. In this respect, consuming in a different way represents paying attention to what the money that we give to buy goods and services is financing, thus bringing economic pressure to bear from below that compensates 4, record 46, English, - ethical%20consumption

Sales-to-assets ratio provides an indication of the general efficiency of an organization, which gives an idea of how the assets are used. This ratio measures the ability of the firm to sell goods with one unit of assets. A high sales-to-assets ratio is generally preferable because it indicates a good ability of the firm to generate sales with a minimum of assets. However, since the indicator is a ratio, a high sales-to-assets ratio could be derived from a small amount of assets. In this case, the firm could be providing poor service to its customers or struggling from inefficient production. Similarly, a low ratio may indicate either lower than normal sales or higher than normal assets. Therefore, we should be cautious when interpreting the sales-to-assets ratio. 1, record 54, English, - sales%2Dto%2Dtotal%20assets%20ratio

Asset Accounting is a sub-ledger accounting module in Financial Accounting, in which all business activities for fixed assets are recorded. The Asset Accounting(FI-AA) component is used for managing and supervising fixed assets with SAP R/3 System. Financial Accounting serves as a subsidiary ledger to the FI General Ledger, providing detailed information on transactions involving fixed assets. As a result of the integration system, FI-AA transfers data directly to and from other systems i. e., it is possible to post from the Materials Management(MM) component directly to FI-AA. When an asset is purchased or produced in-house, it can directly post the invoice receipt or goods receipt, or the withdrawal from the warehouse, to assets in FI-AA. At the same time, it can pass on depreciation and interest directly to Financial Accounting(FI) and Cost Accounting(CO). From the Plant Maintenance(PM) component, it can settle maintenance activities that require capitalization to assets. 1, record 56, English, - Asset%20Accounting

1, record 56, French, - Comptabilit%C3%A9%20des%20immobilisations

Some extra comments should be added with respect to waste dangerous goods. The TDG Regulations deal with three types of waste as dangerous goods. The first is those dangerous goods which have "served their purpose" and are now a waste, but retain sufficient danger that they are a dangerous good. These are referred to as waste dangerous goods and, in general, their shipping name is as it was before, with the word waste placed in front. Thus "nitric acid" becomes "waste nitric acid". 1, record 71, English, - waste%20dangerous%20goods

As with "mutual recognition" of goods and services, the policy is that once accredited in one EC Member State, this accreditation will be accepted throughout the Community. As with testing and certification, there exists European specification for testing laboratories(EN 45 000), drawn from the UK/ISO model. Multinational manufacturing companies such as Hewlett-Packard and Rank Xerox are already harmonizing their European bases of operation to ISO 9000/EN 29 000. Thus, their suppliers are necessarily being accredited to BS 5750/ISO 9000 as a means of remaining capable of supplying companies throughout the EC. The European equivalent of Canadian testing and certification organizations are known as "Notified Bodies", who access the responsibility of manufacturers to the regulations in European Directives. At the present time, it is not certain who will decide upon the credibility of a third-country Notified Body, although the EOTC is set to perform this task.(Europe 1992. SMITHTOWN(Shute an Glaser, 1986; Shute and Bonar, 1986) is a system for teaching economics, which combines a microworld for exploratory learning with a(bite-sized tutoring module.) The student is presented with a simulated town; she can vary parameters such as the supply or the price of certain goods to study the modifications induced in other parameters. Figure 7. 11 shows a snapshot of SMITHTOWN's "notebook" facility, which allows the student to record her experiments. The system implements two simultaneous pedagogical intentions : teaching principles of economics and teaching general investigative behaviors. Bites at the economics level monitor which laws the student is discovering, supplying the name of the new concept when she makes a relevant hypothesis. If the student flounders excessively, the system can become more directive and suggest experiments according to a curriculum that organizes the(domain bites). Bites for investigative behaviors monitor various skills of scientific inquiry such as the ability to collect and record data in a systematic way. At this level, the system acts as a coach, but it does not address inquiry skills directly, since these bites constitute a sort of(metacurriculum). 1, record 73, English, - bite%2Dsized%20tutoring%20module
