This is known as a "tunnel effect. "So, even if the general wind speed in open terrain may be, say, 6 metres per second, it can easily reach 9 metres per second in a natural "tunnel. "Placing a wind turbine in such a tunnel is one clever way of obtaining higher wind speeds than in the surrounding areas.

Under a notice statute, notice is all-important and a subsequent taker obtains priority over an unregistered prior interest if, when his interest is acquired, he is without notice. He need not register so long as he is without notice when his interest is acquired. The race-notice statute requires the subsequent taker to be without notice(presumably when the interest is acquired) and to record his interest before the prior holder records. In general terms, the "Registry Act" in Ontario, and the Torrens system of registration are race-notice and race statutes, respectively, although judicial interpretation has blurred this basic distinction.(Anger and Honsberger, 2nd ed., 1985, p. 1594).

The Anti-Ballistic Missile Treaty(or ABM Treaty) was a treaty between the United States of America and the Union of Soviet Socialist Republics on the limitation of the anti-ballistic missile(ABM) systems used in defending areas against missile-delivered nuclear weapons. On May 26, 1972, the President of the United States, Richard Nixon and the General Secretary of the Communist Party of the Soviet Union, Leonid Brezhnev signed the Anti-Ballistic Missile Treaty. The treaty was in force for thirty years, from 1972 until 2002. On June 13, 2002, six months after giving the required notice of intent, the US withdrew from the treaty.
