The Solicitor General was the Cabinet minister with primary responsibility in the fields of corrections and law enforcement. He/she was also responsible for the Royal Canadian Mounted Police, the Correctional Service of Canada, the Canadian Security Intelligence Service, and the National Parole Board.

The office of Solicitor General of Canada was created in 1892. The incumbent was then designated an officer to assist the Minister of Justice. When the office was abolished in 1935, its former responsibilities were taken over by the Attorney General of Canada. The office was reestablished in 1945 and became a cabinet post. Sixty years later, the office of Solicitor General was abolished, when the office of Minister of Public Safety and Emergency Preparedness was created on April 4, 2005.

The Canadian Association of Defence and Security Industries(CADSI) has its roots in the creation of the Canadian chapter of the American Defense Preparedness Association(ADPA) on November 30, 1983. The organisation's founding mission was to be patriotic, educational, scientific, and non-political. As a non-profit making membership society, it was dedicated to scientific, engineering, industrial, and management preparedness for the common defence of Canada. The organisation believed these attributes to be the strongest guarantees of national security and peace. In 1987, the chapter became an independent association under the name Canadian Defence Preparedness Association(CDPA). On November 25, 1997, CDPA's Board of Directors voted to change the name of the association to the Canadian Defence Industries Association(CDIA). The organisation operated under this new name until the Association's Annual General Meeting in December, 2005, when the Board of Directors resolved to widen the scope of the organisation's representation and mandate in light of the increasingly integrated nature of the national defence and public security of Canada. At the December 6, 2005 Annual General Meeting, with the will of the members, the Canadian Defence Industries Association changed its name to the Canadian Association of Defence and Security Industries(CADSI).

These were joined by 1, 700 soldiers from six Latin American countries, under the auspices of the Organization of American States(OAS), and together they formed the Inter-American Peace Force. At the urging of the UN Security Council, the Secretary General sent a representative, José Mayobne of Venzuela, to the Dominican Republic to report on the matter. He was accompanied by three observers, one of which was Canadian.

A technical indicator is a series of data points that are derived by applying a formula to the price data of a security. Price data includes any combination of the open, high, low or close over a period of time. Some indicators may use only the closing prices, while others incorporate volume and open interest into their formulas. The price data is entered into the formula and a data point is produced. For example, the average of 3 closing prices is one data point ((41+43+43) / 3 = 42.33) ... A series of data points over a period of time is required to create valid reference points to enable analysis. By creating a time series of data points, a comparison can be made between present and past levels. For analysis purposes, technical indicators are usually shown in a graphical form above or below a security’s price chart. Once shown in graphical form, an indicator can then be compared with the corresponding price chart of the security.
