[National Defence Act(NDA) ] Section 275 states :"The Canadian Forces, any unit or other element thereof and any officer or non-commissioned member, with materiel, are liable to be called out for service in aid of the civil power in any case in which a riot or disturbance of the peace, beyond the powers of the civil authorities to suppress, prevent or deal with and requiring that service, occurs or is, in the opinion of an attorney general, considered as likely to occur. Record number: 1, Textual support number: 1 OBS
In Canada, there is a distinction made between "aid to the civil power" and "assistance to civil authorities." The former expression refers to military aid provided to the provincial police forces to restore and maintain law and order. The latter encompasses all other forms of assistance the military gives to the civil community. Examples include search and rescue operations, counter-terrorism response, emergencies (natural and man-induced), fisheries and border protection, humanitarian assistance, counter-drug operations, arms smuggling, illegal immigrants, environmental surveillance and special events. 7, record 1, English, - aid%20to%20the%20civil%20power
Record number: 1, Textual support number: 2 OBS
The expression "aid of the civil power" is used in some texts because it appears in the National Defence Act. Even after the 1985 revision of the Act, the use of the preposition "of" continues to be used, even though the more appropriate expression is "aid to the civil power." 7, record 1, English, - aid%20to%20the%20civil%20power

Record number: 1, Textual support number: 2 OBS
7, record 1, French, - aide%20au%20pouvoir%20civil

When the Business Partnering Model was first presented, the role of a broker within the Director, Human Resources’ team had been developed whose responsibility was routing all requests to the appropriate service centre, tracking all requests to ensure service standards were met, and providing information to managers and the team on the status of individual service transactions. After long discussions, the broker role was replaced by a Business Line Team(BLT). This team is part of the Organization and Resourcing Services. On a matrix basis, a team will be set up for each client Branch/SOA. Headed by a Senior Consultant, reporting to the Resourcing Manager, the team represents a mix of skills and resources to meet client needs as defined by a service agreement negotiatied by the Director, Human Resources. The Senior Consultant, BLT and his/her team will work in partnership with the Director, HR team and will provide constant feed back on results and issues impacting service delivery to the client. Members of the BLT team are at all levels of the organization from support to officer. The make up of the Business Line Team is reviewed annually based on client business plans and service agreements. The Business Line Team is the client's single point of access for staffing, organization design and classification request. It is also responsible for providing these services in the most strategic and cost-efficient way for the client. The Director, HR team will keep the BLT abreast of any client issue, general direction and priority that might impact on service delivery. 2, record 3, English, - Business%20Line%20Team

2, record 3, French, - %C3%89quipe%20de%20secteur%20d%27activit%C3%A9
