The actual term "la logistique", translated in English to logistics, was coined from Maréchal Général de Logis(Quatermaster-General) by the foremost military theorist of the first half of the 19th century, Baron Antoine Henri Jomini. Based principally upon his war campaign experiences as a staff officer for Napoleon, Jomini wrote his "Précis de l'art de la guerre"(Summary of the Art of War) in 1836. [He divided] the art of war into five branches-strategy, grand tactics, logistics, engineering and minor tactics... 2, record 1, English, - grand%20tactics

2, record 1, French, - grande%20tactique
