Radiometric resolution, or radiometric sensitivity refers to the number of digital levels used to express the data collected by the sensor. In general, the greater the number of levels, the greater the detail of information. The number of levels is normally expressed as the number of binary digits needed to store the value of the maximum level, for example a radiometric resolution of 1 bit would be 2 levels, 2 bits would be 4 levels and 8 bits would be 256 levels. The number of levels is often referred to as the Digital Number, or DN value. 2, record 10, English, - radiometric%20resolution

In the absence of a suitable crystal structure, computer methods must predict protein conformation from sequence. The most powerful approaches for structure prediction are based on sequence homology or a more general analogy with known crystal structures. Improvements in these methods will require access to data bases containing the basic motifs of protein architecture... The database will also enable us to extract and store tertiary motifs... These motifs can then be slotted into a model-building study when, for example, predicting the conformation of an homologous protein. 2, record 11, English, - database

In the mid-1950s, daffodils were chosen to decorate the tables at a tea hosted by Lady Eaton in the downtown Toronto Eaton's store to raise funds for the Canadian Cancer Society. The event was so popular that Canadian Cancer Society volunteers in Toronto created an annual Daffodil Day. The Daffodil Tea became an established event in many communities across the province. On Daffodil Day, some restaurants donated part of their receipts to the Canadian Cancer Society and patrons were given a daffodil as a token of appreciation. When restaurant patrons began offering to pay for their daffodils, Society volunteers realized they could raise funds by selling flowers. The following year, volunteers took to the streets to sell daffodils to the general public. An anonymous donor paid to fly 5, 000 blooms from British Columbia, where the growing season starts early. Daffodil sales raised more than $1, 200 in 1957 and became an annual event. Daffodil Day was eventually extended to Daffodil Days--usually from Thursday to the first Sunday in April. Daffodil fundraising now takes place throughout Canada and across North America, Europe and Australia. 1, record 21, English, - Daffodil%20Days

1, record 21, French, - Jours%20de%20la%20jonquille
