New plant-breeding techniques... are methods allowing the development of new plant varieties with desired traits, by modifying the DNA of seeds and plant cells.... Based on assessments of the European Commission, the following plant-breeding techniques can currently be considered as the main [techniques] 1) site-directed nucleases(SDN)(including ZFN-1/2/3 and CRISPR [clustered regularly interspaced short palindromic repeat] systems) ;2) oligonucleotide directed mutagenesis(ODM) ;3) cisgenesis; 4) RNA-dependent [ribonucleic acid-dependent] DNA methylation(RdDM) ;5) Grafting(non-GM [genetically modified] scion on GM rootstock) ;6) reverse breeding; [and] 7) agro-infiltration. 3, record 1, English, - new%20plant%2Dbreeding%20technique

L'expression [...]

Countries that have specific regulations in place relating to GM [genetically modified] crops may differ in the way that they treat stacked events(a "stack" describes GM crops that have been crossed using conventional breeding, thus combining multiple "events" into one plant). In some legislations(e. g. the EU [European Union], Japan, the Philippines), a stacked event is considered to be a new GMO [genetically modified organism] and separate regulatory approval will be needed for its marketing. In other legislations, the decision as to whether a particular stack needs to be assessed for safety and authorized will depend on the novelty of the stacked event when compared with each single event. 1, record 2, English, - stacked%20event

Ottawa, Library of Parliament, 2006. "The Terminator technology was patented in the United States by Delta & Pine Land Company(D&PL) and the United States Department of Agriculture(USDA) in 1998. This technology produces GM plants that can grow to maturity but produce seeds that will not germinate if replanted. Controversy started as soon as the discovery was made public. Because such plants produce sterile seeds farmers would be forced to buy seeds year after year without the possibility of using part of their harvest to plant their fields". 1, record 3, English, - The%20Terminator%20Technology
