Spinning or tumbling net shots are shots where the player makes the shuttle spin so that it does not go too high, and lands close to the net. This shot is executed by slicing the shuttle when it is right over the net. The player needs to take the shuttle as high as possible to make this move work. By slicing the shuttle, the player prevents the shuttle from going any higher. All the upwards and forward moving momentum is transferred into the spin. The shuttle would stay stationary for a second as it spins before dropping down onto the floor. 3, record 1, English, - spinning%20net%20shot

Not to be confused with "passing shot winner". A "passing shot" is a shot that a defensive player is forced to make in order to place the ball behind the opposing net player. Such a shot may or may not go over the net or may or may not land within the opposing court. Successful of not, the attempt is called a "passing shot". And only if it is successful, does one call it a "passing shot winner". À la différence du terme «forcing shot» que l'on peut utiliser dans n'importe quelle situation lors d'un match, il faut que son adversaire soit installé au filet avant qu'on puisse qualifier son coup de «passing shot». A shot is the combination of a stroke and the situation in which it is used. 3, record 5, English, - shot
Record number: 5, Textual support number: 1 OBS
"Long" is an informal expression used to indicate that a shot went out past the baseline. Important nuance: a "stroke" implies early preparation and a complete follow through. If one were to envision a stroke, one would see a series of sequences, ending with a "shot", i.e. the result of all of the above. Consequently, a "shot" is the result of the "stroke". "Shot" implies a quick, sharp movement because one is focusing on the end result, not the series of sequences leading up to it. A "blow" is rather an imprecise, general term similar in meaning to "shot". Although many would like to maintain these nuances in English, "shot" and "stroke" are often used synonymously. "Blow" is used only rarely. Note, however that although there are two possible equivalents ("coup" and "frappe") in French, neither are semantically identical to the English offerings. The Spanish term "pegada" works well as an equivalent for "shot", although technically the term more specifically refers to the actual hitting action caused by the racket coming in contact with the ball, and not to the end result [cause vs effect]. 2, record 5, English, - shot

Models generally predict that cloudiness will change in a warmer world, but depending on the type and location of the clouds, this would have various effects.
