If you’re moving at a pace faster than your usual hike but not quite running, congratulations—you’re officially speed hiking! The key difference between speed hiking and trail running is the pace : speed hiking is all about walking fast on trails, while trail running, as the name implies, involves running. Although speed hikers might break into a jog now and then, the main goal is to walk most of the trail. If you find yourself running more than walking, you’ve crossed the line into trail running. 3, record 1, English, - fast%20hiking

Alternative Solvent for Reducing Health and Environmental Hazards in Extracting Asphalt : an Evaluation. Trichloroethylene is a solvent currently used … for separation of asphalt binders from asphalt paving mixtures in … quality control programs. However, it has been proved that trichloroethylene contributes to ozone depletion, and it is also known to be a carcinogen. The goal of the present study was to determine whether a more environmentally sound and less hazardous solvent could be used for this purpose. The solvent investigated is an n-propyl bromide with the trade name EnSolv. Preliminary studies show that it is safer than many other solvents available today. 1, record 4, English, - alternative%20solvent

1, record 4, French, - solvant%20alternatif

As its name suggests, a school-community centre houses a school and community services. It provides access to specialized facilities that a school or community centre could not offer alone : a bigger gymnasium, an auditorium, a cafeteria, audiovisual equipment and meeting rooms. The goal is to maximize the resources of both components. This co-operative model is well established in the Francophone and Acadian communities.

The technical name for this type of organization is "Programmed Distribution. "It is similar to a cooperative, owned by the warehouse distributors. The goal is to enhance the purchasing power of each member warehouse, and to share certain operating expenses. By improving buying power and reducing overhead costs, each WD [warehouse distributor] seeks to better their competitive position in its marketing area. The savings are passed on to the local independent retailers who are affiliated with the WDs, which improves their competitive position. 2, record 6, English, - programmed%20distribution%20group

1, record 6, French, - groupe%20de%20distributeurs%20affili%C3%A9s
