Buddhism is a transformative teaching that encompasses various systems of philosophy(prajna), meditation(samadhi), and ethics(sila). Although Buddhism is often classified as a major world religion, this classification is disputed by some scholars. This is because a Buddha is not a god, nirvana(the Buddhist goal) is not a heaven, and a Buddha cannot save anyone through religion as there is no soul to save. The major goal is to be free from the cycle of suffering(samsara). 1, record 2, English, - Buddhism

St. Patrick's Day is observed each year on March 17. St. Patrick's Day is not an official national holiday in Canada. It is, however, a provincial holiday in Newfoundland. St. Patrick's Day invokes the spirit of St. Patrick, the patron saint of Ireland who is credited with bringing Christianity to the island. Observed as a religious occasion in Ireland, in Canada, it is often marked with festive parades and the wearing of green. It is believed that Patrick was born in Kilpatrick Scotland. When Patrick was in his early teens, he was captured during a raid and taken to Ireland as a slave. There he learned to tend and herd sheep. At this time, Druids and pagans occupied Ireland. Patrick learned the practices and language of his captors. Because of the hardships he faced, Patrick turned to God. When Patrick was twenty, God came to him in a dream and advised him to go to the coast. Patrick escaped and sailers took him back to Britain where he was reunited with his parents. But Ireland beckoned to the young man through is dreams, so Patrick entered the priesthood, was ordained as a bishop and returned to the Emerald Isle in March 433. He traveled across the country converting the people to Christianity. 1, record 3, English, - St%2E%20Patrick%27s%20Day

The ambo must be located in keeping with the design of each church in such a way that the ordained ministers and lectors may be clearly seen and heard by the faithful. 3, record 14, English, - ambo

The aims and objects of the federation are : 1. To teach the Gospel of the Kingdom of God and all other doctrines of the Christian faith. 2. To proclaim the truth regarding the origin and early history of the Anglo-Celto-Saxon peoples, whether within the English-speaking countries or elsewhere; and to prove their identity with the so-called Lost Tribes of Israel as distinct from the two-tribed House of Judah. 3. The National Anthem of Canada.--"O Canada! Our home and native land! True patriot love in all thy sons command. With glowing hearts we see thee rise, The True North strong and free! From far and wide, O Canada, we stand on guard for thee. God keep our land glorious and free! O Canada, we stand on guard for thee. "O Canada, we stand on guard for thee. "--"O Canada" was proclaimed Canada's national anthem on July 1, 1980, one hundred years after it was first sung on June 24, 1880. The music was composed by Calixa Lavallée, a well-known composer; French lyrics to accompany the music were written by Sir Adolphe-Basile Routhier. The song gained steadily in popularity. Many English versions have appeared over the years. The version on which the official English lyrics are based was written in 1908 by Mr. Justice Robert Stanley Weir. The official English version includes changes recommended in 1968 by a Special Joint Committee of the Senate and House of Commons.

Eid al-Adha is a significant annual Islamic observance for many Muslims in Canada. It is also known as the Feast of Sacrifice or Festival of Sacrifice as it commemorates Ibrahim's(Abraham) willingness to sacrifice his son to God. Eid al-Adha is celebrated in Muslim communities throughout Canada around the 10th to the 13th days of the Islamic month of Dhu al-Hijjah(or Dhul Hijja). It is a time marked by special prayers and many Muslims gather for special prayer services. Many people also visit family and friends, exchange greetings and gifts, and make donations to the poor and needy. Eid al-Adha is also a time for forgiveness and compassion. Eid al-Adha is known as the Feast of Sacrifice because it traditionally includes the sacrifice of an animal permitted for food(eg. a lamb) as an act of thanksgiving for God's mercy. Some of the food is donated for charitable purposes. 1, record 50, English, - Eid%20al%2DAdha

The Immaculate Conception is a Catholic dogma that asserts that Mary, the mother of Jesus, was preserved by God from the stain of original sin at the time of her own conception. Specifically, the dogma says she was not afflicted by the lack of sanctifying grace that afflicts humankind, but was instead filled with grace by God, and furthermore lived a life completely free from sin. It is commonly confused with the doctrine of the incarnation and virgin birth, though the two deal with separate subjects. According to the dogma, Mary was conceived by normal biological means, but her soul was acted upon by God(kept "immaculate") in his constitution Ineffabilis Deus, published December 8, 1854. The Catholic Church celebrates the Immaculate Conception on 8 December, exactly nine months before the official birthday of Mary. 1, record 54, English, - Immaculate%20Conception

Trial by ordeal is a judicial practice by which the guilt or innocence of the accused is determined by subjecting them to a painful task. In some cases, the accused was considered innocent if they survived the test, or if their injuries healed; in others, only death was considered proof of innocence. In the Ukrainian Catholic Church, as well as in other churches of the Byzantine tradition, a Great Blessing of Water service is celebrated annually on the Feast of the Theophany, January 6(January 19 in the Old Calendar). At the conclusion of the service, the blessed water is distributed among the faithful, who drink it and take it to their homes. The Theophany of Our Lord commemorates Jesus’ baptism in the Jordan River by John the Baptist. The Feast is called the Theophany(meaning "the manifestation of God") because this is the first time that the Holy Trinity is revealed, and that Jesus’ divinity is confirmed by the Father and the Holy Spirit. This feast is also popularly referred to as the Feast of Jordan. 1, record 64, English, - Feast%20of%20Jordan

The Church of Christ, Scientist was founded in 1879, in Boston, Massachusetts, U. S. by Mary Baker Eddy, the author of its distinctive book, Science and Health with Key to the Scriptures, which offers a unique interpretation of Christian faith. Christian Science teaches that the reality of God denies the reality of sin, sickness, death and the material world. Accounts of miraculous healing are common within the church, and adherents often refuse traditional medical treatments. 1, record 71, English, - Church%20of%20Christ%2C%20Scientist

2, record 76, French, - Annonciation

World Evangelical Alliance is a global ministry working with local churches around the world to join in common concern to live and proclaim the Good News of Jesus in their communities. WEA is a network of churches in 127 nations that have each formed an evangelical alliance and over 100 international organizations joining together to give a worldwide identity, voice and platform to more than 420 million evangelical Christians. Seeking holiness, justice and renewal at every level of society-individual, family, community and culture, God is glorified and the nations of the earth are forever transformed. Christians from ten countries met in London in 1846 for the purpose of launching, in their own words, "a new thing in church history, a definite organization for the expression of unity amongst Christian individuals belonging to different churches. "This was the beginning of a vision that was fulfilled in 1951 when believers from 21 countries officially formed the World Evangelical Fellowship. 1, record 77, English, - World%20Evangelical%20Alliance

For more than 40 years, The Summit Lighthouse has been publishing the teachings of ascended masters – the mystics and sages of East and West who graduated from earth's schoolroom and attained union with God. Mark L. Prophet founded The Summit Lighthouse in 1958 and was later joined by his wife Elizabeth Clare Prophet. These two Messengers delivered the teachings of the ascended masters in the tradition of the ancient prophets. The Summit Lighthouse is dedicated to bringing these teachings to the world so that every seeker can discover the limitless power of their Inner Self. There are many ways to connect with these teachings : study courses, spiritual communities, international conferences, the use of the Science of the Spoken Word and powerful visualizations for world transformation. 1, record 89, English, - The%20Summit%20Lighthouse

The name of our Church is The Reformed Church of Québec(RCQ), otherwise known as "L'Église Réformée du Québec"(E. R. Q.). It is a Christian church, founded on faith in Jesus Christ as Lord and Saviour of the world. The Reformed Church of Québec is a Church recognised as such by other Christian churches. We are not a sect, pretending to be the sole holders of the truth, nor do we claim to be closer to God than other Christians. We share with all other Christians a common inheritance of which we are proud. Our specific identity is that of being Reformed, which we are descendants of the Church Reformation that took place in the 16th century in most European countries. Moreover, the Lord's Church is in constant need of reforming its faith and actions in the light of the Bible. 1, record 93, English, - The%20Reformed%20Church%20of%20Qu%C3%A9bec

MILES is a system the Army uses for wargames. You mount a small box, the transmitter, on the end of the barrel of your weapon, and wear a harness that has several straps on the front and back with infrared receptors on them. You also have a key that is normally in the transmitter to enable it. The transmitter has a microphone in it, and whenever a shot is fired, the sound causes it to fire a coded IR laser beam. The sensors on the harness are wired to a box on the back which detects when you have been hit. If you are, a beeper starts sounding loudly. To turn it off you have to take the key out of the transmitter, thus disabling it, and put it in a switch in the harness. Then you are "dead", and have to wait for an observer to come around with a special key that can reset the harness. They can also use the God gun, which is so called because it can fire pulses that will "kill" you like the other transmitters, but it can also fire pulses that reset your harness(bring you back to life...) 1, record 96, English, - God%20gun
