... human embryonic germ(EG) cells share many of the characteristics of human stem cells... but differ in significant ways. Human EG cells are derived from the primordial germ cells which occur in a specific part of the embryo/fetus called the gonadal ridge, and which normally develop into mature gametes(eggs and sperm). Gearhart and his collaborators devised methods for growing pluripotent cells derived from human EG cells. 3, record 1, English, - embryonic%20germ%20cell

3, record 1, French, - cellule%20germinale%20primitive

An embryonic germ cell is derived from fetal tissue. Specifically, they are isolated from the primordial germ cells of the gonadal ridge of the 5 to 10 week fetus. Later in development, the gonadal ridge develops into the testes or ovaries and the primordial germ cells give rise to eggs or sperm. 1, record 3, English, - gonadal%20ridge

4, record 3, French, - cr%C3%AAte%20g%C3%A9nitale
