Hydrology affects plant communities and limits tree encroachment and survival in many ways. In low-lying landscapes prone to seasonal flooding, a good way to assess the effects of hydrology is through consideration of hydroperiod, which... is the period of time during a year that a site is inundated. Hydroperiod is usually expressed as a range because of interannual variability in precipitation. 4, record 1, English, - hydroperiod

Good consideration is such as that of blood, or of natural love and affection, being founded on motives of generosity, prudence, and natural duty; hence "good" consideration is sometimes opposed to "valuable" consideration, i. e., one by which some benefit accrues to the promisor or some detriment to the promisee. The only purpose for which a good consideration in this sense was effectual was to support a covenant to stand seised to uses and rebut the presumption of a resulting trust on a voluntary conveyance.(Jowitt, p. 424-425) 2, record 2, English, - good%20consideration

In order to model the progress of an epidemic in a large population, the population diversity must be reduced to a few key characteristics which are relevant to the infection under consideration. For example, for most common childhood diseases that confer long-lasting immunity, it makes sense to divide the population into those who are susceptible to the disease, those who are infected and those who have recovered and are immune. These subdivisions of the population are called compartments... The SIR model labels these three compartments S=number susceptible, I=number infectious, and R=number recovered(immune). This is a good and simple model for many infectious diseases including measles, mumps and rubella. 4, record 8, English, - susceptible%2Dinfected%2Drecovered%20model

[The Kermack-McKendrick model] was proposed to explain the rapid rise and fall in the number of infected patients observed in epidemics such as the plague (London 1665-1666, Bombay 1906) and cholera (London 1865). It assumes that the population size is fixed (i.e., no births, deaths due to disease, or deaths by natural causes), incubation period of the infectious agent is instantaneous, and duration of infectivity is same as length of the disease. It also assumes a completely homogeneous population with no age, spatial, or social structure. 3, record 8, English, - susceptible%2Dinfected%2Drecovered%20model

After some hesitation it was settled in 1565 that if a tenant in fee simple covenanted to stand seized of his land in favour of some near relative, the "good consideration" of natural love and affection sufficed to raise a use in favour of the relative; the use was then executed and the legal estate vested in the relative. This type of conveyance was of limited application as it could not be employed to convey land to strangers, and, like the bargain and sale enrolled, it could not carry any further uses under the Statute.(Megarry and Wade, 4th ed., 1975, p. 165) 1, record 10, English, - covenant%20to%20stand%20seized%20of%20land

... the paramount consideration is the welfare of the patient, and given good faith on the part of the doctor. I think the exercise of his discretion in the area of advice must depend upon the patient's overall needs. To be taken into account should be the gravity of the condition to be treated, the importance of the benefits expected to flow from the treatment or procedure, the need to encourage him to accept it, the relative significance of its inherent risks, the intellectual and emotional capacity of the patient to accept the information without such distortion as to prevent any rational decision at all, and the extent to which the patient may seem to have placed himself in his doctor's hands with the invitation that the latter accept on his behalf the responsability for intricate or technical decisions. 1, record 14, English, - inherent%20risks

3, record 14, French, - risques%20inh%C3%A9rents

Proper recordation imparts constructive notice to the world of the existence of the recorded document and its contents. It protects both innocent purchasers for value who act in ignorance of an unrecorded instrument and the grantee in the event that the deed is altered or lost. Any conveyance not properly recorded is generally void as against any subsequent purchaser, lessee, or mortgagee in good faith and for a valuable consideration who, without having actual notice of the unrecorded conveyance, records his or her subsequent interest in the property.(Reilly, 2nd ed., 1982, p. 396). 2, record 15, English, - unrecorded

Count, which is the fourth element in woven fabric construction, is the number of yarns per inch of fabric. It is a vital consideration in the construction of woven fabrics because it affects absorbency, adhesion, permeability, strength, weight, bulk, flexibility, and other fabric characteristics. The "gray" or unfinished fabric count, however, may be misleading because of dimensional changes due to finishing or to tension and other factors in subsequent processing. Because good looks are not generally a requirement for industrial fabrics, many fabrics are used "in the gray"--without any finishing process. 2, record 16, English, - greige%20goods
