GOSSYPIUM [13 records]

Record 1 2025-05-13

English

Subject field(s)
  • Plant and Crop Production
CONT

The goal of this study was to examine the effects of wind and wind blown sand abrasion damage on cotton(Gossypium hirsutum L.) seedling biomass partitioning to leaves, stems, and roots.... Plants were destructively sampled at the time of the sand abrasion treatment and at approximately 2 and 4 wk after exposure.

CONT

Record 11 1999-03-01

English

Subject field(s)
  • Genetics
CONT

My research interests may broadly be defined as encompassing both "pattern" and "process" aspects of plant evolutions. The former includes phylogenetic analyses of both organisms and molecules, while the latter involves efforts to develop increased understanding of interspecific introgression and speciation mechanisms, especially polyploidy. A large part of my effort involves the genus Gossypium(cotton), which provides model systems for approaching several objectives. Polyploid speciation is a conspicuous and important process of plant evolution, yet we know relatively little about genetic and genomic processes that accompany polyploidization.

French

Domaine(s)
  • Génétique
CONT
