National Defence. Canada also assumed responsibility for the Kandahar Provincial Reconstruction Team(PRT) in August 2005. Kandahar is arguably the Afghan Province in greatest need for support and the Province most impacted by insurgent activities. Canada's PRT mandate closely mirrors the priorities of the international Afghanistan Compact and National Development Strategy, namely Security, Governance and Capacity building and development. The PRT supports key national Afghan programs such as the National Solidarity Program(which Canada helps fund). The PRT also carries out a broad range of enabling roles such as police training and strengthening all areas of local governance capacity, justice and human needs assistance. 1, record 3, English, - Kandahar%20Provincial%20Reconstruction%20Team

1, record 3, French, - %C3%89quipe%20provinciale%20de%20reconstruction%20de%20Kandahar
