The Tobacco Demand Reduction Strategy(TDRS) [administered by Health Canada] was a three-year strategy introduced by the Federal Government in February 1994 to minimize the anticipated negative impact of tax cuts on the consumption of tobacco products. La Stratégie de réduction de la demande de tabac (SRDT) [administrée par Santé Canada] est uen stratégie triennale que le gouvernement fédéral a lancée en février 1994 en vue de minimiser les effets néfastes anticipés des réductions des taxes à la consommation sur les produits du tabac. The CCHALW contributes to the advancement of health and active living at work by providing resources, tools and expertise to active living and health professionals in Canadian workplaces. In 1989, the former Canadian Centre for Active Living in the Workplace(CCALW) was created. It produced a comprehensive "Working Actively Together" blueprint and had made tangible progress in its implementation until the federal government in 1993 announced funding cuts. Le Conseil canadien de la santé et de la vie active au travail (CCSVAT ou le Conseil) est un organisme bénévole sans but lucratif qui assure leadership et soutien aux professionnels canadiens de la promotion de la santé et de la vie active s'efforçant de créer des milieux de travail plus sains. Aujourd'hui, le CCSVAT maintient un solide partenariat avec l'Unité de l'activité physique de Santé Canada et collabore avec de nombreux autres organismes afin de concevoir des initiatives originales et d'offrir des ressources et des recherches axées sur la promotion de la santé et de la vie active au travail. Créé en 1989, le défunt Centre canadien pour la vie active en milieu de travail (CCVAMT) élabora un plan d'action global intitulé Working Actively Together dont la mise en œuvre progressa de façon tangible jusqu'à l'annonce des compressions budgétaires en 1993. En 1996, le groupe de dévoués bénévoles a décidé de repenser le mandat, la mission, la structure et le nom du comité.
