The Treaty of Washington was a treaty concluded in 1871 between Britain and the United States for setting various differences between the two governments, but chiefly those with regard to the Alabama claims. The Government now provides funding to 30 counselling services for adult women who are survivors of sexual assault and to Sexual Assault Treatment Centres in 27 hospitals and 12 satellite sites across the province.
