BC TEL Interactive joined the Royal British Columbia Museum and the provincial government in conducting two electronic field trips beneath the waters off Vancouver Island. The BC TEL Advanced Communications fibre-optic Ubiquity network was used to supply two-way interactive video and audio communications with divers. The Underwater Safari Project was broadcast by satellite to students around the world and segments were carried by CNN and the Japanese Television Network.
