Differential Global Positioning System(DGPS) is an enhancement Global Positioning System that uses a network of fixed ground based reference stations to broadcast the difference between the positions indicated by the satellite systems and the known fixed positions. These stations broadcast the difference between the measured satellite pseudoranges and actual(internally computed) pseudoranges, and receiver stations may correct their pseudoranges by the same amount. DGPS was especially useful when GPS was still degraded using "Selective Availability, "because it could improve accuracy to 5-10 metres. The DGPS network has been mainly developed by the Finnish and Swedish maritime administrations in order to improve safety in the archipelago between the two countries. 4, record 7, English, - differential%20global%20positioning%20system

With the termination of SA [selective availability], ionospheric delay becomes the largest contributor to the GPS error budget(Shaw et al., 2000). As the ionosphere is a dispersive medium, it causes a delay to the GPS signal that is frequency dependent. Therefore, using a dual frequency receiver, we can combine the L1 and L2 measurements to generate the so-called ionosphere-free linear combination, which removes the ionospheric error. 4, record 10, English, - dual%2Dfrequency%20receiver

2, record 10, French, - r%C3%A9cepteur%20bifr%C3%A9quence

The course of a MALD can be programmed by displaying a digital map on a computer and then using a mouse to click on the appropriate map "waypoints", and the "wingman" can then be programmed to follow the same course with an offset. For static positioning, the reconstructed carrier phase is sampled at epochs determined by a clock in the receiver. The reconstructed carrier phase changes according to the continuously integrated Doppler shift of the incoming signal, biased by the integral of the frequency offset between the satellite and receiver reference oscillators. The reconstructed carrier phase can be related to the satellite-to-receiver range, once the initial range(or phase ambiguity) has been determined. Aux fins du positionnement statique, la phase reconstituée de la porteuse est échantillonnée suivant des époques déterminées d'après une horloge dans le récepteur.
