Factors influencing the filtration performance of geotextile can be classified into four categories-external conditions(hydraulic gradient and loading state) ;(bio) chemical conditions of fluent(pH, hardness(e. g. [Fe], [Mn], [Mg], [Ca]), redox potential(Eh) for iron ochre, BOD and COD of water(substrate type/concentration), osmotic pressure and dissolved oxygen) ;the properties of basement material(coefficient of uniformity(Cu), coefficient of gradation(Cc), plastic index(PI), double hydrometer ratio(DHR) for dispersive clay, particle shape and grain hardness for granular soil, compaction degree of soil and saturation degree) ;and the properties of geotextile(filtration opening size(FOS), apparent opening size(AOS), fiber density, textile bulk density(mass/area), porosity, thickness and fiber material)... screen test results clearly indicated that the height of self filtration is proportional to the constriction size(Dc) of granular filter used. Additionally, they suggested the filter opening size value should be within the range between d50 and d80 for linearly graded soil and within the flat range in gap graded soil. 2, record 6, English, - opening%20size

4, record 6, French, - ouverture%20de%20filtration

... there are two major facies of sediments associated with geosynclines or mobile belts. These are the "flysch" and the "molasse" facies.... The flysch facies is marked by its great thickness and its predominantly argillaceous nature. It is almost wholly clastic, although at some stages bedded cherts or radiolarites were deposited.... The bedding is well marked, uniform, and rhythmic... The principal material is shale or silty shale regularly interbedded with graded beds of dark sandstone(usually graywackes) varying from a few centimeters to a meter or two in thickness.... Graded bedding is the rule; large-scale cross-bedding is absent, although ripple bedding may be present.... Noteworthy is the absence of carbonates, except as concretions in siltstone beds. 2, record 7, English, - flysch

The combination of oscillation and slope of the sieve causes the stock to travel slowly along its length. Air currents drawn from the underside of the sieve float the lighter branny particles to the surface of the layer of material on the sieve. Heavier particles of endosperm fall to the lowest strata of material and ride on the surface of the sieve until they reach the part of the sieve that has openings big enough for the particles to fall through. As the particles fall through, they are collected in a series of graded fractions. Thus, at the head end of the purifier, the purest most dense particles of endosperm pass first through the mesh as mixture travels along the sieve, the composite particles of endosperm with adhering bran are next to pass through the mesh, and finally the light coarse branny particles tail over the sieve into separation collecting spouts. 1, record 12, English, - collecting%20spouts

1, record 12, French, - collecteurs
