During the 1970-71 crop year, a procedure known as "pooling of grain" was introduced at the ports of Vancouver and Thunder Bay to reduce the amount of switching required. Under this system, all Wheat Board grain, that is export wheat, oats and barley(except selected lots), is placed at any terminal for unloading, no matter to which elevator company it is consigned. Time is saved by eliminating the switching formerly required to effect mandatory delivery to the elevator company indicated on the bill of lading. 1, record 8, English, - pooling%20of%20grain

1, record 8, French, - pool%20du%20grain

Low dockage grain can be cleaned in one pass through the cylinder machine. In high dockage grain, however, some small seeds and wild oats may be left in the cleaned grain. If so, the grain is elevated to a small garner and fed to a screen or another indent cylinder unit. This is referred to as "two-pass" cleaning because the grain must be re-elevated. 1, record 26, English, - two%2Dpass%20cleaning

1, record 26, French, - nettoyage%20dit%20%C3%A0%20deux%20passes

The Canadian Wheat Board is the sole marketing agency for wheat, oats, and barley grown on the Prairies and destined for export or for human consumption in Canada. The Board may also market these grains in domestic feed grain markets when additional supplies are required, but producer sales to the domestic feed grain market, handled by the private trade, are usually adequate to meet these requirements. 1, record 27, English, - domestic%20feed%20grain%20market

1, record 27, French, - march%C3%A9%20canadien%20des%20c%C3%A9r%C3%A9ales%20fourrag%C3%A8res
