The act of 1930 remained in force, with only minor changes, until 1971 when it was completely rewritten. One amendment, made in 1960, transferred the responsibility of the Board of Grain Commissioners from the Canada Department of Industry, Trade and Commerce to Agriculture Canada. The act that became law on April 1, 1912, represented a consolidation and general revision of the oft-amended Manitoba Grain Act and the Grain Inspection Act.
