Vessels of opportunity are predominantly bulk carriers and crude tankers transporting natural resources(iron ore, coal, zinc, grain, oil) to known destinations. These are often loaded in remote facilities and the loading/unloading operations typically require many days allowing plenty time for divers to approach a vessel and work to attach a parasite container underwater. 2, record 1, English, - parasite%20container

Many pneumatic systems are mounted on barges which can be towed to a seagoing vessel to discharge the cargo midstream. These barge-mounted pneumatic systems are called floating elevators. Most floating elevators have four succion pipes with a total discharging capability of between 250 and 400 tonnes per hour. The main advantage of the floating elevator is its mobility. Before the grain is shipped at multi-terminal ports, the clearance association receives "shipping orders" from exporters. These orders are marched with the "charter slips" received by vessel agents for incoming ships to minimize the number of terminals at which a ship will have to berth to complete loading. Grain in drawn from the terminal elevators under the supervision of the CGC, which issues a "Certificate Final" stating the weight and grade on which the transaction is based. These documents are among those required by the exporter to claim payment. 2, record 14, English, - shipping%20orders

1, record 14, French, - ordre%20de%20transport

While grain is moving through the system, an extensive sanitation program ensures that quality is maintained. For example, many elements in the Commission's quality control efforts ensure that grain shipped is free of pesticide residues. It is illegal for a producer to deliver contaminated grain to a licensed elevator. If an inspector at the terminal discovers evidence of chemical contamination in a car being unloaded, he immediately orders the grain segregated. The grain is tested by the Research Laboratory and the owner of the grain is advised of requirements for disposal. In addition, all vessel shipments are tested for pesticide residues. 2, record 15, English, - grain%20sanitation

Overtime operations will be permissible on Saturday and Sunday nights(from 5. 00 p. to 11. 00 pm). This overtime will be normally worked for the purposes of loading vessels, in preparation for shipping, or for shipping related activities(e. g. inspection of grain or retreatment of grain). The working of overtime for non-shipping purposes during these periods will be kept to a minimum. In circumstances where the loading of a vessel is near completion, the workforce agrees to work beyond 11. 00 pm for a period not exceeding 2 hours to complete the loading of the vessel. In certain emergency situations, such as the turning of grain required for immediate shipment, or the repair of equipment which has broken down, the workforce agrees to work beyond 11. 00 pm until the emergency is rectified. 2, record 16, English, - turning%20of%20grain

3, record 16, French, - transilage%20du%20grain

As the tubes [in the Strainmaster mash tun] are covered, pumps connected with them are operated and this sucks mash on to the tubes to form a "prefilter", analogous with the precoating of a kieselguhr beer filter. The wort is at first recycled, but quickly becomes clear. Sparging is automatic after much of the first runnings have been withdrawn. Finally, the "bomb doors" at the bottom of the vessel are opened to release the spent grains. The operations of preheating, mash receipt and circulation, withdrawal of first worts, and finally spent grain removal take 3, 12, 15, 60 and 15 min. respectively, totalling 105 min. 1, record 17, English, - spent%20grain%20removal

The "Index-grain apparatus"(...) is a sedimentation device in which the free fall of grains is slowed by three nozzle-like constrictions which cause turbulence that results in better grading of the grains. In order to distinguish between the single grain fractions which settle in a graduated, conical, water-filled sedimentation vessel, a colored index set of three known grain fractions is added to the sediment before separation : 1 cmthree black grains in the grade 0. 02-0. 035 mm 1 cmthree red grains in the grade 0. 063-0. 11 mm 1 cmthree black grains in the grade 0. 2-0. 35 mm(...) The suspension with the added index set is poured into the filling tube, which is closed from below with a float stopper. The stopper is opened by squeezing a rubber bulb on the filling tube, and the suspension can immediately enter the lower sedimentation tube. The filling tube has a constriction that generates turbulence. The grains therefore enter the sedimentation tube pregraded. By multiplying the percentage volumes of the individual grades(minus the added colored index grains of each grade) by the average bulk density [(gamma]=1. 56), the weight-percentages of the individual grades are calculated on the basis of 100% dry material. 1, record 19, English, - Index%2Dgrain%20apparatus

1, record 19, French, - appareil%20%C3%A0%20grains%20color%C3%A9s%20comparateurs
