Eutaxitic texture describes the layered or banded texture in explosive volcanic rocks. It is often caused by the compaction and flattening of glass shards and pumice fragments. Ignimbrites are typically characterized by fist-sized pumice fragments floating in a finer grained matrix but many ignimbrites, however, are still hot when they are emplaced so that the pumice and ash fragments are still plastic and malleable. 1, record 2, English, - eutaxitic%20texture

Calhoun performed clogging tests to determine the degree of fabric clogging that might be experienced by fabric in contact with a gap-graded soil. The clogging test employed a permeameter device ... Hydraulic gradient data from the soil-fabric permeameters were analyzed to determine the clogging potential of a fabric. The analysis made use of a ratio of the hydraulic gradient across the fabric plus an adjacent 1 in. of soil to the hydraulic gradient for the entire system, that is, the "clogging ratio." The artist begins by painting the metal plate with a solution of sugar and black ink. The entire plate is then coated with an acid-resistant varnish. When the plate is immersed in warm water, the sugar mixture melts, lifting away part of the varnish. The plate is then grained for texture... and dipped in acid. Where the varnish has been lifted, the acid bites into the plate. In printing, ink gathers in this etched area and creates a rich black tone on the paper. 2, record 62, English, - lift%2Dground%20etching

1, record 62, French, - gravure%20dite%20au%20sucre

The final soap-making operation by which the soap, after addition of water and/or an appropriate electrolyte solution, passes from one of the following equilibrium states with two or three phases :grained soap-lye; neat soap-nigre; neat soap-nigre-lye; in order to obtain a viscosity that permits good separation of the phases. The phases of the soap which are separated are respectively the following : soap on lye and soap on nigre. [Definition standardized by ISO. ] 2, record 99, English, - finishing
