Marine biofilm : how quickly does it form? Immediately, when a surface is immersed in the sea, a conditioning film of organic molecules forms. This begins after a few seconds of immersion and is considered as molecular fouling. In the hours and days that follow, bacteria colonise the surface and micro colonies occur. These colonies spread outwards and upwards to form irregular structures. At this stage other microfouling appear, e. g. microalgae and fungi... The biofilm then matures and new species enter and grow, organic and inorganic debris is incorporated and solute gradients develop leading to a special heterogeneity. At this point three things can occur : The biofilm may slough off due the hydrodynamics of the environment; Organisms may begin to graze on the biofilm; Larger organisms such as algae and molluscs may establish on it, this is macrofouling. 4, record 15, English, - microfouling

2, record 26, French, - effleurer%20et%20placer
Record number: 26, Textual support number: 3 OBS
L'expression «frapper et placer» ne pourrait correspondre qu'à «hit and lie» qui n'existe pas au curling; c'est plutôt «frapper et rester» (hit and stay) qui a cours. Quant à «chasser» qui correspondrait au verbe «to take out», il ne rend pas le sens de «chip and lie», un jeu dans lequel la pierre adverse n'est pas nécessairement retirée du jeu. 2, record 26, French, - effleurer%20et%20placer

2, record 26, French, - effleurer%20et%20placer

Livestock production and herd management are such that a number of decisions need to be made quickly on a day-to-day basis, decisions such as where to graze, when to water, whether to sell, how many to sell and when to sell. Under traditional pastoral production, most of these decisions are made by the household head, who manages the household herds. 3, record 29, English, - herd%20management
