So, grazing sheep on a cool-season grass pasture is a balancing act between the first flush of spring growth, grass going to seed later in the spring, and the hot weather dormancy.... Put the sheep into a field when the grass is about 6-8 inches high, and move them to the next field when they’ve grazed the first to about 3-4 inches. Keep moving them, but also watch your other paddocks. In the spring, it's easy for the growth to get ahead of your sheep. You may need to mow a paddock or two to make sure they don’t go to seed before they are grazed. 3, record 1, English, - grass%20pasture

Grazing Behaviour.... The horse will avoid grazing where there is a smell of horses droppings, reducing the possibility of picking up parasitic worm eggs and resulting in the characteristic rough areas of pastures that are continually grazed.... The sense of smell is also used to identify plant species, enabling horses to be selective of grass or herb species and also to avoid certain poisonous weeds, i. e. ragwort.... The horse has sensitive hairs on the lips allowing them to determine how close to the ground they are grazing, and also, the maturity of individual plants. 1, record 2, English, - grazing%20behaviour

Grass founder is common among horses grazed on summer grass pastures. Pastures containing clover and alfalfa apparently are more likely to cause the condition than grass pastures... Horses that develop grass founder usually are overweight, and affected horses have a heavy crest on the neck caused by fatty tissue. Shetland ponies, Welsh ponies, and fat horses of other breeds are especially subject to the disease. The cause of this type of laminitis is unexplained. 1, record 3, English, - grass%20founder

1, record 3, French, - fourbure%20de%20p%C3%A2turage
