Foods with a parasitic bacterium, Bdellovibrio Bacteriovorus. The addition of B. bacteriovorus, an obligate parasite of gram-negative bacteria, to meats and meat products reduces the gram-negative population, lengthens the shelf-life, and reduces the risks of food-borne illness. The organism is intended to be applied to the surface of the food, onto food contact surfaces by spraying or dipping, or as part of a sanitizing rinse. It may also be used on uncooked seafoods and whole eggs. High parasitic activity occurs under aerobic conditions, near neutral pH, and at temperatures [greater or equal] to 20°C. Morbid obesity, also referred to as clinically severe obesity or extreme obesity, is a chronic disease that afflicts approximately 9 million adult Americans. ... The morbidity and mortality risk from being overweight is proportional to its degree. Individuals with morbid obesity, therefore, have the highest risk for developing numerous illnesses that often reduce mobility and quality of life due to their excess weight. In particular, type 2 diabetes, gallbladder disease and osteoarthritis have been found to increase concurrently with higher BMI [body mass index]. Premature death, a 20-year shorter life span, has also been found in individuals with morbid obesity. The aircraft classification number is calculated with respect to the center of gravity (CG) position which yields the critical loading on the critical gear. In exceptional cases the forwardmost CG position may result in the nose gear loading being more critical. 2, record 28, English, - aircraft%20classification%20number

ACNs are expressed on a scale from approximately 5(least demanding aircraft) to 110(most demanding aircraft). ACNs are applicable only to aircraft having an apron(ramp) mass equal to or greater than 12 600 lb. ACNs have been assigned to present-day aircraft at their maximum and minimum operating masses/weights and at a specific tire pressure. The ACN should not exceed the pavement classification number(PCN) for unrestricted aircraft operations. Superrefraction... causes radio waves to refract downward with a curvature greater than normal. The result is an increased flattening of the effective earth... It can be seen that an "N" gradient of-157 units per kilometer yields a "k" equal to infinity. Under these conditions radio waves are propagated at a fixed height above the earth's surface, creating unusually long propagation distances and the potential for overreach interference with other signals occupying the same frequency allocation. 4, record 46, English, - super%2Drefraction

Pollution Prevention Opportunity Evaluation. Waste-generating Process: Metal Finishing - Surface Preparation. Opportunity: Reduce Rinsewater Use; Use of Rinsewater as Chemical Solution Make-up. ... The use water for rinsing can be reduced by several methods: ... A still rinse tank, also known as "dead rinse," "stagnant rinse," and "recovery rinse," can be used ahead of flowing rinses to concentrate the drag out in one tank and to reduce the amount of chemicals discharged to the sewer. The dead rinsewater can be used as make-up chemical solution. 2, record 60, English, - stagnant%20rinse

Installing an electrowinning unit on a stagnant rinse tank after a dragout recovery tank is the most common and costeffective application of electrowinning. To maintain a steady-state metal concentration in the stagnant rinse at or below the maximum contaminant concentration, the rate of metal deposition onto the electrowinning cathodes must be greater than or equal to the rate of dragin from the preceding tank. Thus, the metal deposition rate is an essential design parameter that ultimately affects the capacity, size and cost of the electrowinning unit.... Because metal and cyanide concentration in the stagnant rinse are lowered, subsequent rinses will be cleaner, allowing the flow rates in these rinses to be reduced or turned off. In many cases, rinse water flow is reduced to a rate equal to the evaporation rate from the stagnant rinse. 3, record 60, English, - stagnant%20rinse

CR-39 plastic nuclear track detectors(PNTDs) are made of polymers that are sensitive to charged particles of linear energy transfer(LET) greater than or equal to 5 keV/micrometer. CR-39 PNTDs are usually made up of thin(approximately 0. 6 mm) sheets which are assembled in multi-layer stacks exposed in three mutually-orthogonal orientations. Charged particles that pass through the CR-39 PNTD with enough LET break the molecular bonds of the polymer and form a pathway known as the "latent damage trail. "As the amount of radiation the CR-39 PNTD is exposed to increases, so does the number of latent damage trails. 1, record 92, English, - CR%2D39%20plastic%20nuclear%20track%20detector

1, record 92, French, - d%C3%A9tecteur%20solide%20de%20traces%20nucl%C3%A9aires
