La reproduction des couleurs du procédé autochrome se fait par réseau trichrome d'après le principe additif. Le réseau trichrome est constitué de fécule de pomme de terre tamisée, teintée en bleu, en vert et en rouge. Après les avoir mélangées, elles sont collées sur une plaque de verre.
