Green streets are designed to capture rainwater at its source, where it falls, providing water for plants and trees to grow and at the same time acting as a natural filter to clean the water before it makes its way into local waterways.

OBS

A green street integrates green infrastructure elements into the street design to manage stormwater and reduce stormwater runoff. Permeable pavement, bioretention areas, underdrains, planter boxes, and planting strips, are among the many green infrastructure features that may be woven into a green street design.

A green roof is a green space created by adding layers of growing medium and plants on top of a traditional roofing system... The layers of a contemporary green roof system, from the top down, include : the plants, often specially selected for particular applications; an engineered growing medium, which may not include soil; a landscape or filter cloth to contain the roots and the growing medium, while allowing for water penetration; a specialized drainage layer, sometimes with built-in water reservoirs; the waterproofing/roofing membrane, with an integral root repellent, and the roof structure, with traditional insulation either above or below.

Obsolete additive colour process employing an irregular mosaic filter screen of microscopic red, green and blue dyed starch grains over-coated with a panchromatic emulsion.

OBS

Exposed through the screen the emulsion was reversal processed and the positive image viewed through the same screen (Auguste and Louis Lumière 1903). Marketed 1907 on glass, 1933 on sheet film base.

La reproduction des couleurs du procédé autochrome se fait par réseau trichrome d'après le principe additif. Le réseau trichrome est constitué de fécule de pomme de terre tamisée, teintée en bleu, en vert et en rouge. Après les avoir mélangées, elles sont collées sur une plaque de verre. Les interstices entre les grains sont noircis avec de la poudre noire de charbon de bois. On recouvre la surface ainsi obtenue d'une couche de vernis très mince et imperméable, puis on coule sur ce vernis une couche d'émulsion photographique panchromatique. Ce procédé correspond à celui de la synthèse additive : 3 projecteurs équipés de filtres bleu, vert et rouge, reproduisant les différentes couleurs par addition, et les 3 plaques argentique en noir et blanc.

A type of camera filter used to obtain more realistic tonal representation of subject colors on black and white photographs. Correction filters are normally yellow for daylight illumination and green for tungsten illumination.

OBS

for "contrast filter" : "Contrast" filters and "correction" filters have different functions and should, therefore, not be considered as synonyms. Use of the "correction" filter is dictated by the type of light; this filter is used to obtain realistic tonal representations. The "contrast" filter, on the other hand, is chosen by the photographer who wishes to emphasize different tones.

«filtre à contraste» : Les filtres "à contraste" et "correcteur" n'ont pas les mêmes fonctions. En conséquence, ces termes ne sont pas synonymes. On se sert du filtre "correcteur" pour "corriger" le type de lumière en scène et, donc, donner des teintes plus ou moins conformes à la vision humaine. Le filtre "à contraste" sera choisi par le photographe qui veut accentuer certaines teintes (par opposition à d'autres).
