Organizing a "green" meeting involves adopting a pollution prevention approach and thinking of the environmental considerations at every stage of the organization process. This means choosing to hold a teleconference whenever possible. If a conference/workshop/meeting is deemed more appropriate, considerations to the location of the meeting, the type of services contracted, and even the commuting mode to and from the meeting should be considered.

Pour organiser une réunion «écologique», il s'agit d'adopter une approche axée sur la prévention de la pollution et de tenir compte des considérations relatives à l'environnement à chaque étape du processus organisationnel. Ceci signifie qu'il faut privilégier les téléconférences, dans la mesure du possible. Si on estime qu'une conférence, une réunion en personne ou un atelier est plus approprié, il faut alors considérer le lieu de rencontre, les types de services contractuels et même le mode de transport des participants.

réunion verte : Bien que le mot «vert» soit parfois utilisé pour rendre l'idée d'«écologique», l'usage d'un terme plus précis, surtout en l'absence d'un contexte, peut être souhaitable afin d'éviter toute confusion entre les différents sens du mot «vert».
