The introduction of green surfaces on the building envelope follows completely [the] principle [of reconciliation ecology], creating habitats, although of reduced dimensions, on the same land used by humans as living space. These green islands can help in protecting wildlife and increasing wildlife diversity, both creating their own island habitats and working as "stepping stone" habitat in order to connect natural isolated areas. In the case of a green extensive roof, the substrate can be left to spontaneous colonization by plants and animals(brown roof), with a benefit for the variety of native species. 2, record 1, English, - green%20surface

determinate(D) plants are more compact, bushy, and short-lived in nature. They generally have one main growth spurt, reach a certain size, and then yield a single large set of fruit all at once(or during a short period of time). Once a mature determinate plant has produced its main “bumper crop”, the plant will drastically slow down in production or stop growing entirely. Bush tomatoes and bush green beans are prime examples of determinate plants. 1, record 2, English, - determinate%20plant

Infected cucurbit plants initially show a chlorotic(yellow) spotting, which eventually develops into a striking interveinal chlorosis(yellowing) in which the veins remain more or less green but the rest of the leaf turns bright yellow. Leaves will often roll upward and become brittle. Fruit on infected plants may appear normal but often have reduced levels of sugars; this results in poor marketability and economic loss. Symptoms of Cucurbit yellow stunting disorder virus infection can be confused with abiotic factors, such as nutrient deficiency. 3, record 3, English, - cucurbit%20yellow%20stunting%20disorder%20virus

Symptoms : All aboveground plant parts may be affected. Large, light green leaf spots develop on the upper leaf surfaces. Under moist conditions, a white to gray moldy appears on the lower or upper leaf surfaces. Affected leaves may wilt, then die. If environmental conditions become unfavorable for downy mildew, plants may show recovery by developing healthy leaves, or other pathogens may be encouraged. During fall wet periods, most young petioles or leaves are covered with a fungal growth that often moves into the crown. Crown infections may permit other root-decay organisms to invade the plant. Crown infection causes excessive leaf proliferation which in turn causes misshapen bulbs. 5, record 12, English, - sugar%20beet%20downy%20mildew

Aquatic weeds can be grouped by the following categories : algae, and emersed, floating, submersed and marginal(shoreline) weeds. Algae are green, stringy mats, sometimes called "pond scum". Algae are primitive plants without leaves, stems or roots. Emersed aquatic weeds generally are rooted in the soil, with part of the plant growing above the water surface.... Floating aquatic weeds are seed-bearing plants that float freely on the surface of the water or have leaves that float on the surface, connected by long stems to roots in the lake bottom. Submersed aquatic weeds are rooted in the soil and the entire plant is under the surface of the water. Some submersed aquatic weeds have flowers that emerge above the water surface. Marginal aquatic weeds can be herbaceous or woody and grow around the margins of the water. Marginal aquatic weeds may grow either in the shallow water or along the banks of the shoreline. 3, record 13, English, - aquatic%20weed

3, record 29, Spanish, - ciclo%20del%20carbono

Tomato mosaic virus used to be common and widespread, but most modern cultivars are resistant. The virus exists in several strains that cause a variety of symptoms. Its common symptom is light to dark green mottling on the leaves, often accompanied by wilting of young leaves on sunny days when plants first become infected. The leaflets of affected leaves are usually distorted, puckered, and smaller than normal. The plant is reduced in size and becomes pale green and spindly... Disease symptoms are greatly influenced by temperature, day length, light intensity, age of plant, virus strain, and cultivar of tomato. 2, record 35, French, - virus%20de%20la%20mosa%C3%AFque%20de%20la%20tomate

Blue dwarf of oats, caused by the oat blue dwarf virus, is transmitted from diseased to healthy plants during the process of feeding by adult aster leafhoppers(Macrosteles fascifrons). Immature leafhoppers may occasionally transmit the blue dwarf virus... An oat plant infected with blue dwarf is greatly stunted and becomes uniformly dark bluish green. The leaves, especially the flag leaf, are stiffer, shorter than normal... and stand out at a greater angle from the culm than those of healthy plants. Enations occur on the leaf and culm veins. Tillers appear in larger numbers, and may form above the crown. Infected plants usually remain green in the field longer than healthy plants. 2, record 37, English, - oat%20blue%20dwarf%20virus

While production methods vary slightly from plantation to plantation, the basic operations... remain the same... Commercial banana plants grow from 15 to 30 feet in height and are grown in long rows on large irrigated plantations. Most bananas consumed in the United States are grown in the lowlands of Central and South America. The average banana plant produces fruit about every nine months. The stem usually grows to contain about 150 bananas. When the manager decides, the fruit is cut green from the plant and dropped carefully on the back of a worker carrying a cushion to stop any bruising of the fruit. 2, record 40, English, - banana%20plantation
