CONT

Semantic segmentation focuses on classifying each pixel in an image into a specific category. It assigns a unique class label to each pixel in an image and divides it into one of the predefined set of semantic categories, such as person, car, or tree. However, this segmentation technique does not differentiate between instances of the same class and treats them as a single entity. Imagine coloring a scene where all cars are blue, all people are red, and everything else is green – that's semantic segmentation in action.

OBS

Semantic segmentation is a type of image segmentation.

CONT

After the Tasseled Cap transformation of Landsat MSS data, four new separate images are created, including the soil brightness index(SBI), the green vegetation index(GVI), the yellow stuff index(YVI), and a non-such index(NSI) associated with atmospheric effects and image noise. Generally, the GVI and SBI indexes contain most of the scene information(95% to 98%).

non-such index; NSI: term and abbreviation officially approved by the RADARSAT-2 Terminology Approval Group (RTAG).

• General Vocabulary
DEF

Apparatus used for transforming original colour signals, or colour and luminance signals, into the form required for transmission. This usually involved translating the colour information into some form of modulation of a subcarrier.

CONT

In a compatible color encoder... the red(R), green(G), and blue(B) signals are first applied to a matrix, where they are cross-mixed.... The signal designated M conveys luminance information; it is nominally equivalent to the signal that would be generated by a monochrome camera viewing the same scene as the color camera. That is, the M or luminance signal controls the sensation of brightness.
