A green, gray, or red metamorphic rock, similar to slate but often having a wavy surface and a distinctive luster imparted by the presence of mica.

Phyllite has a marked tendency to split into sheets or slabs; it may have a sheen on its surfaces due to tiny plates of micas. Its grain size is larger than that of slate but smaller than that of schist.

Metal coping is often used to cover the top of a parapet wall in lieu of masonry copings. If your composition flashing system is the full height of the parapet wall, extend this flashing over the top to the outside edge of the parapet. This will ensure no interior leaks should water enter at the metal coping joints.

The shingles on the sloped portions of the roof are a slate green shingle, the glass is green tinted glass and the mullions will be white anodized metal. The coping along the top edge of the flat parapet walls is a metal coping with a fluoro-polymer coating that would match the accent brick.

Le solin de couronnement est un terme généralement utilisé pour désigner le chaperon métallique qui recouvre le couronnement du parapet. Il sert à protéger la bordure supérieure du solin de base. Il peut également, s'il est bien conçu, ajouter une touche visuelle à la bordure de toit. Bien qu'il ne soit pas étanche à l'eau, le solin de couronnement permet d'écarter l'eau et doit être incliné vers le toit.
