Public Works and Government Services Canada(PWGSC) in partnership with Environment Canada has initiated a process to ensure that environmental factors are taken into consideration during all project phases in the development of office space. The Green Office Building Plan(GOBP) has been developed in response to this need. The GOBP has been written to address primarily the needs of Renovation, Recapitalization and Fit-up projects, which make up the majority of the office space projects in which PWGSC is involved. When the process has been refined and tested, it will be applied to all federal office space projects in the future.

[...] Travaux publics et Services gouvernementaux Canada (TPSGC), en collaboration avec Environnement Canada, a mis sur pied un processus grâce auquel les facteurs environnementaux sont pris en compte à toutes les étapes des projets d'aménagement d'espaces à bureaux. Le Plan de construction de bureaux écologiques (PCBE) a été élaboré pour répondre à ce besoin. Le Plan vise avant tout à satisfaire les besoins des projets de rénovation, de modernisation et de restauration qui forment la majorité des projets d'aménagement d'espaces à bureaux auxquels participe TPSGC. Lorsque le processus sera au point et éprouvé, il sera utilisé dans tous les futurs projets fédéraux d'aménagement d'espaces à bureaux.

The Green Space Project has been set up to work with the community, environmental groups and other federal and provincial agencies following Transport Minister Collenette's announcement on March 23, 2001 "that the federal government will take immediate action to further protect the federally owned portion of the Oak Ridges Moraine and areas around the Rouge Park as green space. "

Collenette, ministre des Transports, ait annoncé, le 23 mars 2001, que «le gouvernement fédéral prendrait des mesures immédiates pour protéger davantage la partie de la moraine d'Oak Ridges et les zones entourant le parc de la vallée de la Rouge, dont il est propriétaire, en tant qu' espaces verts».
