determinate(D) plants are more compact, bushy, and short-lived in nature. They generally have one main growth spurt, reach a certain size, and then yield a single large set of fruit all at once(or during a short period of time). Once a mature determinate plant has produced its main “bumper crop”, the plant will drastically slow down in production or stop growing entirely. Bush tomatoes and bush green beans are prime examples of determinate plants. 1, record 1, English, - determinate%20plant

St. Patrick's Day is observed each year on March 17. St. Patrick's Day is not an official national holiday in Canada. It is, however, a provincial holiday in Newfoundland. St. Patrick's Day invokes the spirit of St. Patrick, the patron saint of Ireland who is credited with bringing Christianity to the island. Observed as a religious occasion in Ireland, in Canada, it is often marked with festive parades and the wearing of green. It is believed that Patrick was born in Kilpatrick Scotland. When Patrick was in his early teens, he was captured during a raid and taken to Ireland as a slave. There he learned to tend and herd sheep. At this time, Druids and pagans occupied Ireland. Patrick learned the practices and language of his captors. Because of the hardships he faced, Patrick turned to God. When Patrick was twenty, God came to him in a dream and advised him to go to the coast. Patrick escaped and sailers took him back to Britain where he was reunited with his parents. But Ireland beckoned to the young man through is dreams, so Patrick entered the priesthood, was ordained as a bishop and returned to the Emerald Isle in March 433. He traveled across the country converting the people to Christianity. 1, record 3, English, - St%2E%20Patrick%27s%20Day

Record number: 5, Textual support number: 1 CONT
The processes used for salting cod are generally the same in most areas and time periods, with some local variations. The colonial New England cod fishery is typical. Cod was either "dry cured" or "green cured. "For a dry cure, fish were usually cleaned, split, salted, and then stored aboard ship after each haul so they would not deteriorate at sea. Once the the ship returned to shore, the fish would be repacked, resalted, and eventually sun dried into tough, durable slabs that could be stacked and stored like wood. Dry curing was used when fishers traveled long distances to fishing grounds. In contrast, green curing, in which the fish were cleaned, salted, and dried on land rather than at sea, was used on shorter trips to nearby fishing grounds.... Because it was a faster process, green curing did not wring as much water out of the fish as dry curing. Green-cured fish therefore was considered to be of lower quality and did not last as long. 3, record 5, English, - green%20fish

With modern digital cameras, the green color is processed the cleanest with the most luminance. The result is that you’ll often be able to pull a clean key with the least amount of noise, and often, without a complicated lighting setup. Conversely, because of green’s brightness, it can also lead to more "spill," meaning the green color may reflect and bleed over on your on-screen talent. ... To combat this, ensure that there is sufficient distance between the talent and the green screen background. Green is also an ideal choice if you’re compositing in a "daytime" background. Any leftover green can blend better into daytime footage, while it’s more challenging to blend green against a darker (or nighttime) background. 5, record 12, English, - green%20screen

The Austoft 7000 harvester is a chopper harvester with a cleaning system. This harvester is used to cut green cane(with leaves). It cuts one row of cane at a time. The cane is fed between the crop dividers and cut at the root zone by base cutter blades. The cane is then fed through the roller train and is cut by the chopper drums into small cane pieces of 10 to 12".... The introduction of the Euro will end the need for a system to dampen currency fluctuations in the agri-food sector : the [European] Commission has thus decided to propose a reform of the agrimonetary system which includes in particular abolishing... the current agricultural conversion rate, the "green rate", which is distinct from the official exchange rate. This complex mechanism, which was originally introduced to spread the adjustment of national agricultural prices to currency fluctuations over time, will lose its raison d’être. Since the Member States using the Euro will no longer have different exchange rates, there will be no need for such green rates. 3, record 14, English, - agricultural%20conversion%20rate

Cupping is one of the coffee tasting techniques used by cuppers to evaluate coffee aroma and the flavor profile of a coffee.... In a coffee cupping session, the table is usually set up with 6 to 10 cups per coffee. These are fashioned in a triangular manner. At the top of this triangle you should place a sample of the roasted coffee and a sample of the green coffee. In the center of the table place a cup of room temperature water and an empty cup containing the cupping spoons. Cover both the green sample and roasted sample until the cupping session is over and the coffee aroma, fragrance, and flavor profile have been documented. After this time, the coffee samples could be uncovered and additional comments can be written based on appearance. This method will help reduce the common "eye cupping" technique. 2, record 18, English, - coffee%20cupping

When the sun sets, sometimes the last bit of light from the disk itself is an emerald green. The same is true of the first bit of light from the rising sun. This phenomenon is known as the "green flash" or "green ray". It is not an optical illusion. The green flash is common and will be visible any time the sun is rises or sets on a "clear", "unobstructed", and "low" horizon.... The explanation for the green flash is thus, 1) refraction separates the solar images by color; 2) at just the right instant, the red image has set, 3) the yellow image is absorbed; and 4) the blue image is scattered away. We are left with the upper limb of the green image. Because the green flash is primarily a refraction effect, it lasts longer and is easier to see from a mountain top than from sea level. 3, record 23, English, - green%20flash

3, record 23, French, - rayon%20vert

Visual awareness primarily involves seeing what is directly in front of you, but it can be influenced by a three-dimensional representation of the object in view retained by the brain. If you see the back of a person’s head, the brain infers that there is a face on the front of it. We know this is true because we would be very startled if a mirror revealed that the front was exactly like the back. 1, record 35, English, - visual%20awareness

Brief flashes of colored light enable researchers to infer the minimum time required for visual awareness. A disk of red light is projected for 20 milliseconds, followed immediately by a 20-millisecond flash of green light. But the observer reports seeing a single flash of yellow, the color that would be apparent if red and green were projected simultaneously. La perception visuelle consciente est bien plus riche que la vision pure et simple : le cerveau conserve en mémoire une certaine représentation tridimensionnelle de l'objet regardé. Cuprous casse may occur in white wines containing even a few tenths of a milligramme per litre of protein, and copper, when these wines have been kept for some time away from air and in a warm, light place.... Since cuprous casse requires light to develop, vulnerable wines are often put into dark green bottles. 1, record 37, English, - cuprous%20casse
