The objective of a green corridor is always to link important natural areas in a city using a strip or corridor characterised by rich vegetation.... The benefits of green corridors are various, of course : increased biodiversity, promotion of non-polluting mobility, reduced air/noise pollution, helping prevent heat islands, and better water retention. They also generate social, cultural and economic benefits. 2, record 1, English, - green%20corridor

Green corridors slicing through an urban area are conspicuous. Such strips (1) subdivide the area, (2) block out the other side, (3) are filters for movement across, (4) are thin and dominated by edge species, (5) are likely to be seen or encountered, (6) may be appealing or dangerous, and (7) tend to channel movement along their length. Indeed, these characteristics lead to the five major ecological functions of corridors ...: conduit; barrier/filter; source; sink; and habitat. 3, record 1, English, - green%20corridor

Normalized difference vegetation index(NDVI) is the ratio between the difference and sum of two spectral bands. One band is in the visible spectrum(e. g. avhrr_ch1) and one band in the near IR [infrared]... NDVI provides an estimation of the health of vegetation and the means of monitoring changes in vegetation over time. Values close to zero mean little or no vegetation and values close to +1(0. 6-0. 9) indicate high density of green leaves. 5, record 4, English, - normalized%20difference%20vegetation%20index

The image processing consisted in generating intensity images and one coherence image. To facilitate their analysis and interpretation, a coloured composition has been created with the results. This composition is obtained by adding the coherence image in red, the average of both images phase intensities in green and the difference between these phase intensities in blue. As such, a high coherence level(value close to 1) appears in red and indicates a very good phase correlation between the two images, a consequence of the various mechanisms of radar signal scattering and of the lack of change which could affect the target. On the contrary, a weak coherence level(value tending to 0) appears in black and indicates a movement in these zones during the 24 hours interval which separated the two image shots. Lastly, the white spots correspond to areas with a strong radar signal backscattering i. e. with zones of hills or vegetation. 3, record 5, English, - colour%20composition

When a pyranometer is oriented downwards it measures the reflected shortwave radiation, and is thus called an albedometer. When two pyranometers are associated, one oriented upwards and the other downwards, the net short wave radiation is measured. The instrument is then called a net pyranometer. A point of caution is that any instrument used as an albedometer or net pyranometer must have mil sensitivity to all spectra of visible light. This is important since the composition of reflected light from vegetation is highly biased toward green. 3, record 6, English, - net%20pyranometer
