Carbon dioxide(CO2) is the most important greenhouse gas, contributing about half of global heating. In addition, there are what are known as the non-CO2 greenhouse gases : methane(CH4), nitrous oxide(N2O), freon CFC-12(CF2Cl2), freon CFC-11(CF3C1), and tropospheric ozone(O3). Carbon monoxide and the nitrogen oxides, while not themselves greenhouse gases, increase the amount of methane and ozone in the troposphere. A non profit organization created in 1994, has as its mission implementing the National Earth Comfort Program. The National Earth Comfort Program is a collaborative effort between the US Department of Energy, the US Environmental Protection Agency, and private sector organizations interested in promoting the growth of energy-efficient, environmentally friendly heating and cooling technology. The GHPC' s specific area of interest is in increasing the use of GeoExchange technology for both commercial and residential heating and cooling. GeoExchange systems use the earth's renewable energy to provide heating in winter, and cooling in summer, with energy consomption 25% to 50% less than traditional oil, natural gas, and electric heat pump systems. Moreover because GeoExchange systems burn no fossil fuels in creating heat, they reduce greenhouse gas emissions substantially, and eliminate a source of carbon monoxide inside the homes and commercial buildings where they’re used. 1, record 9, English, - Geothermal%20Heat%20Pump%20Consortium

Water Vapor. The most abundant greenhouse gas, it is the water present in the atmosphere in gaseous form. ... In addition to its role as a natural greenhouse gas, water vapor plays an important role in regulating the temperature of the planet because clouds form when excess water vapor in the atmosphere condenses to form ice and water droplets and precipitation. 5, record 10, English, - atmospheric%20water%20vapor

The oceans influence the climate response in two fundamentally important ways. First, because of the importance of the H2O greenhouse feedback, the response of the tropospheric temperatures and even the land surface temperatures would be governed by the warming of the ocean surface. If for some reason the ocean does not respond to the greenhouse heating, the H2O feedback would be turned off since increased evaporation from the warmer ocean is the primary source for increasing atmospheric H2O. 1, record 11, English, - H2O%20feedback

Greenhouse effect(...) The transparent glass or plastic walls and roof of the greenhouse transmit the shorter wavelength, visible light and infrared radiation from the sun but not the longer wavelengths. Thus, during the hours of daylight infrared radiation passes into the greenhouse and warms its atmosphere and the ground on which the house stands. The transparent walls and roof of the greenhouse partly reflect and partly absorb the longer wavelength radiation. Subsequently the walls and roofs re-emit the absorbed radiation into the house. Coating the glass with a non-heat-radiating film, which is transparent to sunlight, further maximizes the heating effect of radiation received. 2, record 18, English, - reinforced%20greenhouse%20effect
