Its scientific name, "Galerina autumnalis", means "small autumn cap, "which suits it moreover very well. You can recognize this Galerina by the orangy-brown tones of its cap, of the gills and of its stalk, and by its rusty-brown spores, its small size, and its growth habit in groups on rotten wood. The stalk reveals a delicate ring or an annulus-like zone.... As its name indicates, this Galerina is typically autumnal. You find it during cool, wet weather, especially in October. On most birds which have large patches of missing feathers, the problem is a result of the other birds’ picking them....

A grant; it is applied to an estate either in fee or for a term of life or years, but most commonly to the latter; it is used in writs for any estate. Thus, in the old books, copyholds are said to be demisable by copy of court roll, meaning that the lord can grant them according to the custom of the manor. Plants with limbs that grow down, instead of up, can be spectacular. Horticulturally, the reason for this growth habit is a genetic mutation. Most plants have a central growth point that remains dominant, and the trunk and limbs grow vertically. In the weeping tree category, this growth control is interrupted. The new layer of growth is somehow superimposed over the previous layer, and is more horizontal than vertical. This growth pattern is known as plagiotropism. 1, record 53, English, - weeping%20tree

The basis of prescription is that if long enjoyment of a right is shown, the court will strive to uphold the right by presuming that it had a lawful origin. Thus the court may presume, on proof of the fact of long enjoyment that there once was an actual grant of the right, even though it is impossible to produce any direct evidence of such a grant. It is then "the habit, and in my view the duty, of the court, so far as it lawfully can, to clothe the fact with right". 2, record 67, Spanish, - h%C3%A1bito%20de%20crecimiento

Groutite occurs in two distinct habits. The first of these, reported by Klein and Frondel(1967), occurs as platy, irregular, bladed, opaque 0. 5 mm crystals, black, with strong reddish-brown internal reflections and perfect {010} cleavage(Figure 22-57). This groutite is rare; only one specimen is known. The more common groutite is strongly prismatic in habit, opaque, and black(Figures 22-58 and 22-59). Groutite also occurs as dense mats of thin acicular reddish-brown crystals(Figure 22-60). It is best identified using X-ray diffraction techniques. 3, record 75, English, - groutite

Burbankite is a rare strontium and cerium carbonate mineral. Burbankite is one of many rare minerals that come from the famous mineral locality, Mont Saint-Hilaire, Quebec, Canada. Some specimens have been cut from there and in fact a large 6. 62 carat orange stone is the North American record holder for this species. But burbankite is far too rare to be considered a mainstream gemstone. Its crystal habit is reminiscent of apatite although its color and size is generally quite different. Burbankite's crystals are typically quite small but well formed and make good micromounts. 2, record 79, English, - burbankite

2, record 82, French, - c%C3%A9r%C3%A9ale%20de%20printemps

The stands of juvenile trees don’t need to be spaced the same distance that mature trees require, because there is an optimum spacing which encourages natural pruning of lower branches. Such natural pruning is a desirable energy saver for the land owner. Also, conifers have a growth habit built in, called geotrophism, which is what makes a tree grow vertically rather than just meandering crookedly up to its finished height. Using the force of geotrophism to advantage, we may just crowd our trees just enough to keep them reaching higher than a specimen tree with its bushy branching and its severly bushy habit. All this doesn’t give you a formula to work with though, so try this approach. You should thin most stands of juvenile age to intermediate age trees to about eight feet apart. Later, as the trees mature, they could be spaced even farther to as much as twelve feet apart. 2, record 99, English, - natural%20pruning

The objective of this study was to describe the different morphological gradients being used as the basis for the development of the shape of the stem system in young forest-grown 7-year-old beeches ... Three simple morphogenetic gradients explain the developmental dynamics of their overall stem system ... The third one is characterized by a gradual reduction in annual growth rate as well as of the branching angle of the lowest axes of the tree, indicating their decline and their imminent elimination by natural pruning. 3, record 99, English, - natural%20pruning
