Record 1 2017-05-10

English

Subject field(s)
  • Animal Diseases
DEF

A tick-borne disease of cattle of which haemoglobinuria(giving a red colour to the urine) is a prominent sign.

French

Domaine(s)
  • Maladies des animaux
CONT

Spanish

Campo(s) temático(s)
  • Enfermedades de los animales
DEF

Enfermedad parasitaria transmitida biológicamente por garrapatas.

Record 2 2009-01-23

English

Subject field(s)
  • Human Diseases
DEF

Fever, often severe or fatal, characterized by acute intravascular haemolysis with haemoglobinuria.

OBS

(Blackwater fever is) believed to be due to repeated infection with falciparum malaria and often precipitated by the taking of quinine.

French

Domaine(s)
  • Maladies humaines
DEF

Syndrome, souvent grave, voire mortel, caractérisé par une hémolyse intravasculaire aigüe accompagnée d'hémoglobinurie.

OBS

Record 3 2006-02-27

English

Subject field(s)
  • Histology
CONT

DAF(decay accelerating factor) is expressed on erythrocytes and epithelial cells and inhibits the assembly on membranes of the classical pathway convertase and also accelerates its decay. Deficiency in DAF is associated with the disease paroxysmal nocturnal haemoglobinuria in which autologous erythrocytes become remarkably susceptible to lysis by complement.

French

Domaine(s)
  • Histologie
CONT

Record 4 2004-07-02

English

Subject field(s)
  • Blood
  • Animal Diseases
DEF

The presence of free haemoglobin in the urine.

OBS

In true haemoglobinuria the protein has originated from erythrocytes haemolysed within the vascular system. In false haemoglobinuria it comes from erythrocytes in the urine that have haemolysed there, leaving red cell envelopes in the urinary sediment. In both forms the urine is coloured dark red to almost black.

French

Domaine(s)
  • Sang
  • Maladies des animaux
DEF

Spanish

Campo(s) temático(s)
  • Sangre
  • Enfermedades de los animales
DEF

Presencia de hemoglobina en la orina.
