[Endolaser] is a critical component of vitreoretinal surgery. Endolaser coagulation is a method by which the laser light is brought directly inside the eye through a fiber optic cable connected to the laser delivery console for treatment to the retina. When the surgeons is performing an intraocular surgery and a need for coagulation exists, the laser light is directed toward the desired area through a probe and photocoagulation is performed.... Endolaser probes are available in several forms such as—straight/curved, blunt/tapered, simple/aspirating, and even illuminating. The most commonly used is the straight probe with a blunt or tapered tip. The curved tip helps in accessing the anterior-superior retina or peripheral retina near the surgeon's dominant hand with ease. 3, record 3, English, - endolaser%20probe

Indirect ophthalmoscope. It has a separate power supply, a separate illumination, separate focussing and magnifying system [than the direct ophthalmoscope. ] The illumination system is worn on the forehead of the examiner. The magnifier also known as condenser is held in the right hand of the examiner.... The indirect ophthalmoscope gives a real, inverted and magnified image of the fundus. The image is formed in front of the eye of the patient. The magnification depends upon the power of the magnifier. Another conventional user identification protocol requires users to submit biometric-based data, such as a fingerprint scan, for example, and this biometric data is evaluated to determine user access. Such an identification protocol generally includes two stages: enrollment and identification. During enrollment, a biometric instance (such as a fingerprint scan) is obtained, and unique characteristics or features of the biometric instance are extracted to form a biometric template, which is stored as an enrollment template for subsequent identification purposes. Identification involves obtaining a subsequent biometric instance reading of the same type, extracting unique characteristics or features of the subsequent biometric instance to form a new template (the verification template), and comparing the two biometric templates to determine identification of the user. 3, record 26, English, - biometric%20instance

Complex regional pain syndrome is a broad term that covers long-lasting pain and inflammation that can happen after an injury or a medical event, such as surgery, trauma, stroke, or heart attack. Although complex regional pain syndrome(CRPS) can occur anywhere in the body, it usually affects a person's arm, leg, hand, or foot. CRPS is usually triggered by trauma or injury to the affected limb or other body part. There are several subtypes of CRPS. CRPS-1 occurs after illness or injury but is not associated with any specific nerve damage, and CRPS-2 is associated with damage to a specific nerve.... People living with CRPS have pain that is much greater than normal, even without a visible injury. Other symptoms include changes in skin color, temperature, and/or swelling on the arm or leg below the injury site. 2, record 28, English, - complex%20regional%20pain%20syndrome

ATOS is the least common form of TOS [thoracic outlet syndrome]... However, of the TOS subtypes, ATOS has the greatest potential for serious complications, and therefore surgical intervention is promptly warranted in patients demonstrating arterial compression. Thoracic outlet compression on the subclavian artery(SCA) can cause poststenotic dilation, leading to aneurysm formation, which can result in distal thromboembolism and further ischemic complications. Embolization to the arm or hand is common in patients with ATOS, usually causing discoloration of the affected upper extremity.... Patients can present in several ways, but all have in common an abnormality at the SCA usually combined with a bony abnormality. 4, record 35, English, - arterial%20thoracic%20outlet%20syndrome

Reconditioning is the product recovery process that is the most similar to remanufacturing. Both involve the replacement of damaged or worn components. Still, the big difference is that in remanufacturing, the process is meticulous enough to return the product to the original equipment manufacturer's specifications, which maintains the warranty. Reconditioned products, on the other hand, cannot use the product's original warranty. 2, record 45, English, - reconditioning

Augmented reality(AR) is the addition of digital imagery and other information to the real world by a computer system. AR enhances a user's view or perception of the world by adding computer generated information to their view. Spatial augmented reality is a branch of AR research that uses projectors to augment physical objects with computer generated information and graphics. Traditionally, projectors have been used to project information onto purpose built projection screens, or walls. SAR on the other hand, locates(or projects) information directly onto objects of interest, including moving objects. SAR systems use sensors to develop a three dimensional(3D) model of the world, and typically include tracking systems that enable them to dynamically track movement of real world objects. Such movements or changes are integrated into the 3D model so that updates can be made to projections as objects are moved around. 1, record 54, English, - spatial%20augmented%20reality

2, record 54, French, - r%C3%A9alit%C3%A9%20augment%C3%A9e%20spatiale

Robotic grasping and manipulation in unknown environments is made difficult by several factors.... To make robots cheaper, lighter, and safer, precision in the accuracy of end-effector position is often sacrificed. This introduces uncertainty in the position of the gripper relative to the object. Robotic grasping theory must account for such uncertainty in order to provide robust and reliable grasping in unstructured environments. One method for dealing with such uncertainty is robotic caging. Unlike an immobilizing grasp, in which the robotic hand grasps an object so as to prevent all motion of the object relative to the hand, a caging grasp only prevents the object from escaping through the fingers, while allowing some motion of the object relative to the hand. 1, record 62, English, - robotic%20caging

Space telerobotics is an inherently complex task, requiring mental visualization skills, fine motor visualization skills, fine motor control, and adhering to procedure and flight rules. Often space telerobotics is accomplished only using video views of the work area, so the robotic arm operator must interpret two dimensional images to create a 3D [three-dimensional] mental model of the environment and their position inside it, all the while being aware of arm kinematics and limitations, avoiding collisions, and following procedural flight rules. To add to the workload, they also control the arm in six degrees of freedom, using separate rotational and translational hand controls, where the movement axes are frequently not aligned with camera views(e. g., the operator views the scene backwards or upside down). 1, record 65, English, - space%20telerobotics

Assistive robots, last-mile delivery, warehouse navigation, and robots in office environments are all applications that require robust robot navigation in dynamic environments. While methods exist for robot navigation sub-tasks, such as localization and mapping, motion planning, and control, current local navigation methods typically must be tuned for each new robot and environment. For example, vision-based navigation typically relies on high-level motion primitives such as "go straight" and "turn left" that abstract away robot dynamics. On the other hand, motion planning handles robot dynamics, but often requires near-perfect sensor observations. 1, record 66, English, - vision%2Dbased%20navigation

2, record 66, French, - navigation%20bas%C3%A9e%20sur%20la%20vision

Today, innovative near-Earth and interplanetary space missions are being planned with the aim of enabling sustainable and responsible utilization of space, on the one hand, and to expand humanity's capability in exploring space, from the Moon to Mars and beyond, on the other. High-power magnetically shielded Hall thrusters are currently seen as one of the most promising candidates among the electric propulsion concepts to realize these novel mission scenarios. Indeed, these thrusters provide both the high-throughput and the long-lifetime capabilities that are essential for the next-generation missions. 1, record 67, English, - interplanetary%20space%20mission

2, record 67, French, - mission%20interplan%C3%A9taire

The strength-training benefits of paddles depend largely on a swimmer's awareness of hand speed. If a hand paddle increases the area of the swimmer's propulsive surface, and the swimmer moves the hand with the paddle at the same speed as without the paddle, the swimmer will generate more propulsion. However, because of the larger surface area, a swimmer will naturally move the hand through the water more slowly with the paddle than without at first. The CIT, also known as the guilty knowledge test [GKT], is used in criminal investigations to examine whether a person recognizes crime-relevant information that innocent people would not know. In the CIT, an examiner presents several items to an examinee, one of which is a crime-relevant item. The items are selected such that innocent examinees would not be able to distinguish the crime-relevant(critical) item from the crime-irrelevant(non-critical) items. Each item is presented once in a block and this block is repeated several times in different presentation orders. During the CIT, the examiner records physiological responses to the items. In the case that the responses do not differ between the critical and non-critical items, the examiner would infer that the examinee does not recognize the critical item. 2, record 79, French, - r%C3%A9partition%20des%20graisses%20corporelles

The emergence of AI candidates in global politics signifies a paradigm shift in our understanding of governance and representation. On one hand, AI can process vast amounts of data, engage with constituents on an unprecedented scale, and propose policies grounded in empirical evidence rather than political expediency.... However, the ethical and practical implications of AI in politics are far-reaching and complex. 9, record 94, English, - artificial%20intelligence%20political%20candidate

Traditionally, piano benches are longer and wider. They’re designed to accommodate duets, offering ample space for two players to sit side by side comfortably. Piano benches tend to be sturdier and heavier, providing stability during intense practice sessions or performances.... On the other hand, piano stools are typically smaller and more compact. They may feature a cushioned or unpadded seat and are often lighter in weight. Piano stools come in various designs, with some featuring a single central leg and others boasting a set of legs closer together. 2, record 95, English, - piano%20stool
